It looks the the Corps' reputation for honor and integrity just took a big positive jump.

“The bolts have been removed from the rifles rendering them unable to fire a round,” the post stated. “Apparently Obama’s Secret Service doesn’t trust the USMC. Simply searching each guy to make sure he didn’t have a live round hidden on him wasn’t enough, they had to make sure the guns were inoperable.

The feeling is mutual.

Nothing new, that POTUS has been doing it to Military members for about 4 years now... as does his VP, and a select few other political hacks we elected. every single time they "visit"

Yes, it's been done before, and before Obama. What I thought was interesting here was how obvious they made it.

Well, though I would not expect an on duty marine to act out violently, I do not think the ideas of duty honor and loyalty coexist well with the philosophy of lies, political expediency, and subterfuge that this admin has embraced. So perhaps neither side should trust the other.

This did not happen back in the 60's , even when things in DC were really weird with all the hippies and anti-war demonstrators all over town.

When working in/around DC, weapons were unloaded, but as far as I know, never inspected. These same guys from the Presidential Honor Guard (three platoons) rotated to Camp David all the time. There for two weeks, back to town for four weeks. At Camp David, walked posts locked and loaded, unload at guard shack after your tour was over.

Excessive amounts of spit & polish when in or around DC, but never had my Garand checked.

Was squad leader, first squad, second platoon, Presidential HonorGuard.

I have heard that as well, but it did not happen the one time I was at an event with him present.

Did not happen with either Pres Bush.

Did not happen the one time I was at an event with Pres Reagan present.

Has happened with various SECDEF, CJCOS in the last few years… never before..

I just read the link...

the official said the base commander made the decision that no one would be allowed to bring in weapons.

NOT TRUE........not true 7 months ago, not true this time.., was not the commands decision, yes the order came from them..... because that is what they were ordered to do..
