As some of you main know, POPVOX is a website where you can automatically tell your senators and reps, how you feel on a particular bill or issue. You take a position on an issue and your reps are automatically emailed. Right now one particular issue is showing very strong support from the anti-gun side. Let's change that.
The issue is:
Common Sense Legislation to End Gun Violence.
This is a generic issue, not addressing any particular piece of legislation that, but rather supports: AWB, magazine limit, and UBC's. Click the link above and make your voice heard. As of this posting there is 85% support for this issue (49500 for vs.8500 against).
Once you have done that, take a stand on all the other firearm legislation individually by looking at the
firearm issue page.
Let's get it done!

Politicians know the difference between a random computer poll and a phone call from their constituents.

I agree, phone calls tend to have more impact, but make no mistake every time someone supports this issue their congressmen get an email detailing that support. It is just like the Ruger advocacy page, it generates and sends an email for you. Emails are counted too.

That one has been around for a couple of months, and they never seem to remember who I am, I have to register every time I go vote.

Responded with this comment:
Dear Congressperson:
I oppose Common Sense Legislation to End Gun Violence because...
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed
"I ask, Sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people. To disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to enslave them." George Mason - Co-author of the Second Amendment during Virginia's Convention to Ratify the Constitution, 1788
Firearms stand next in importance to the constitution itself. They are the American people's liberty teeth and keystone under independence … from the hour the Pilgrims landed to the present day, events, occurrences and tendencies prove that to ensure peace security and happiness, the rifle and pistol are equally indispensable … the very atmosphere of firearms anywhere restrains evil interference — they deserve a place of honor with all that's good." George Washington - First President of the United States
To preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms and be taught alike, especially when young, how to use them." Richard Henry Lee - American Statesman, 1788
