He sometimes responds to my missives. It will be interesting to see if he does in this case.You missed the main point and conflated privileges with rights.
First, as your essay ably shows, gun control laws have always been used to control people that were considered undesirable, either due to race, ethnicity or behavior. And that's precisely what the recently proposed laws will do - control people who are now considered undesirable, i.e. those with guns, primarily thought to be white males.
Secondly, the comparison toward the end of gun rights vis-a-vis property rights, voting rights and marriage rights is fallacious because all three lack the same level of protection under the Constitution that gun rights do (unless you hale from the school of penumbras and emanations.)
