Problem solved.
Now get rid of guns.
"WASHINGTON — Is your workplace getting shot up by a crazed gunman?
No problem — just grab a pair of scissors and fight back!
That’s some of the helpful advice in a new instructional video from the Department of Homeland Security that was posted on the agency’s Web site just a month after the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut."

Unfortunately, they will still be limited to a single "clip".

UGH!
I think Big Sis needs to do the demo herself - with pinking shears.

But just don't run as you attack the active shooter, that could be dangerous.

Don't forget, you can only have safety scissors in the classroom:

In reality anyone able to get out will likely be outside long before the police arrive.

This same department?

The Department of Homeland Security is telling Border Patrol agents in Arizona to run away and hide if they encounter a shooter in a public place.
Agents took a FEMA administered course called “IS-907 – Active Shooter: What You Can Do,” a 45-minute computer course telling the employees to either evacuate, hide out, or take action only if they need to.
Border Patrol agents in Arizona are not happy. The members of Tucson Local 2544/National Border Patrol Council think it is downright insulting to tell armed law enforcement agents to do the exact same thing as civilians. Only as a last resort are the agents even allowed to throw objects at the shooter.

hmm that shoots down the Maryland State police comandants contention that "assault weapons" belong only in the hands of Police and Military, not civilian hands. I think personally that the "assault weapons" or properly select fire weapons don't belong in any Civilian hands that includes police because no matter what they think they are civilians, so lets go and make it all civilians, or better yet, just let everyon have them.

If you don't have scissors maybe a bottle of Elmer's to the eyeball would be the next line of defense.

Maybe DPS should return all that ammo they ordered to the tax payer and follow their own advice.

We all know DHS is a department of pansies, (leadership only implicated in this). They are only strong against their own citizenry, so they will be glad to shove your child through a x-ray machine or to assault your wife in an airport, but if there was anything that remotely looked like a terrorist, those in the upper echelons would run away like scared little girls. However I always recommend having a few "decorative signed" baseball on little stands on your desk anytime you are forced into a situation where you must be unarmed, baseballs can be lethal weapons. Thrown at the head they can render a person unconscious, thrown at the body they can knock a person off balance and give you time to escape. So yeah....baseball's on a little display is a weapon that no one would think was a weapon. Note: you can't be a throw like a pansy little girl, you have to be able to throw straight....so that might be a skill you could hone.
Note: I have nothing against little girls (I have two beautiful ones 5 and 1) but there is a time to put childish thing away and if you are born with XX to become a strong young lady and then a strong woman.

Studies have shown that someone using scissors for self-defense is more likely to injure themselves than their attacker.
