Here's the problem......... Anderson Cooper is one of those "journalists" who maintains that he's an independent. But clearly, he tweeted something false because it resonated with his own personal view of gun-owners. If he were a TRUE independent, he would have verified the story before tweeting it, and falsely tarnishing the reputations of those in attendance. And when your twitter profile says you have 3,637,168 followers, your journalistic responsibility is even more profound and less escapable.Anderson Cooper ✔ @andersoncooper

I couldn't agree more. My heart goes out to all of these families. I don't blame them for their words in these hearings - I realize that they are filled with grief, still trying to grapple with the loss of their children. I don't think any of us could ever understand what they are feeling unless we were in their shoes. I do know that they will go through periods of over-thinking and "what if-ing" this to death, and that is perfectly understandable. I don't mind listening to them express their feelings & emotions - they need to let that stuff out. If they want to blame guns, I won't agree with it, but I will respectfully listen with compassion as they try to make since of their unimaginable loss. It is part of the process.fickman wrote:I truly feel bad for that father. . . may God give him peace.

Michelle Malkin busted Anderson Cooper who tweeted the same falsehood. He then deleted his tweet—to his credit—after he found out that it was a false story and tweeted another statement, saying:Here's the problem......... These people seriously need to calm down. OTH, they make their livings by hyperventilating, and trying to get the rest of us to hyperventilate along with them. Sadly, Anderson Cooper is no exception.
If he was acting like a journalist, he would've done that regardless of his views on the matter. The truth knows no political or ideological boundaries. The Annoyed Man wrote:If he were a TRUE independent, he would have verified the story before tweeting it, and falsely tarnishing the reputations of those in attendance.
