After Democrats in New York rammed a sweeping assault on the right to keep and bear arms through the legislature that failed to exempt police officers from the draconian restrictions, gun owners and even some lawmakers are planning what has been dubbed potentially the largest act of civil disobedience in state history. According to news reports, gun rights activists are urging everyone to defy far-left Governor Andrew Cuomo’s new registration mandate while daring authorities to “come and take it.”
Way to go NY, our fellow Americans. I didn't think they still had it in them.

I was raised in upstate NY. Most of the people I still know there will not comply. I moved 30 years ago. I don't know why they haven't moved yet.

Who would have thought the revolution would start in New York?

There was a ton of anti-Unionist activity in NYC during the Civil War.

Why is it a surprise that the revolution would start in NY? Where is it going to start? Arizona? Texas? Revolutions begin among the most down-trodden, and if a firearms-related revolution is coming, NY has to be home to a lot of the down-trodden, gun-wise ... Beat a man down, if he has any sand he revolts ... this is going to be an interesting four years ...

Good for them.. The problem is getting stopped on the way to or from the range. If the govt. wants to enforce this, they will have "special units" that will do that, and work traffic coming from those events. Find PC for a stop and go forward.

The government is not going to send a platoon of infantry soldiers against you and yours, they will not even send a couple of riflemen. What will happen is our government licensed news media will promote their liberal agenda against one of our so called rights, everyone will bobble their heads in agreement except for a few naysayers who will complain about it on the Internet, then Congress will pass the final edict and that will be the end of that so called right. It will not matter what our Constitution says or what your interpretation of it is.
If our government decided to "take care of you" for not being a head bobber, they will not send anyone to your home so you can "defend" it, they will mail you a certified notice to appear. If you ignore it, they will issue a warrant for your arrest. You will not run and get your gun when the police show up at your door, which they probably wouldn't. You would be arrested during your next traffic stop or some such thing...
It's a slow erosion, there is nothing or nobody to attack or defend against.
The next group of adults who leave our education system will be adamantly apposed to firearms due to years of liberal brainwashing, then the Second Amendment will be legally removed from our Constitution.
Elections have meanings...we are suffering the wrath of our "collective wisdom".

Unless people decide to go on the offensive. I agree a defensive battle is not winnable.

Making unenforceable rules = bad parenting-leads to resistance & non-obeying & loss of respect for other rules loss of respect for authority

Your scenario, while not completely far-fetched, is based on the local and state law enforcement agencies willfully and knowingly enforcing the law. Would I expect that sort of thing to happen in a place like Austin or Houston or Dallas? Perhaps. But not every part of this state, or many other states, is like Austin, Houston or Dallas...and it also shows why we need a law to state that no law enforcement resources will be allowed to be utilized for the enforcement of laws that turn otherwise law-abiding Texans into criminals simply for the sake of gun control.
