Someone tell us which ones opposed/supported campus carry, if that information is out there.

Dewhurst is out for me because of the TSA bill fiasco.

I'm leaning Cruz, but could be persuaded if I had more info. Leppert seems to be a non-starter, and James looks like he's trying to rebuild his reputation after the Texas Tech debacle.

I'm in the "anybody but Dewhurst" camp. Cruz is the Tea Party favorite but I wish that Leppert had more support. I don't know yet what I'm going to do with this one.

For me, it's Cruz all the way. Dewhurst has had plenty of chances to prove his conservative mettle over the years and failed miserably. Most recently, border security, sanctity cities, proposed wage tax and TSA.

Cruz is consistent in his beliefs and actions. He is a fighter and I believe he will not backdown when the going gets tough.

Dewhurst has committed a laundry-list of no-no's on things that are important to me. Most of those things have already been stated by others.

Personally, I have made the decision to vote for a qualified candidate other than the incumbent if the incumbent has been in office two or more terms.

I think a lack of term limits is a key component of why our country is in the shape out is in.

Since KBH (the incumbent) has already announced her retirement, this isn't very applicable to the OP's question..

Leppert... Heck no.

Cruz for me, so far.

Cruz for me. He's a fighter, and the Tea Party candidate. And for me, a Palin endorsement carries some weight. Her people vet their candidates well before she lends he endorsement, and she has a good record for picking winners.
Dewhurst has a very mixed record. He's been in Austin too long.
Leppert is too moderate. And he left Dallas with a corrupt mayor to finish his term. He had an opportunity to fix that, but it would have cost him votes in his next race, which is this one. He made the political choice over the moral choice.

One darned thing that would make me sick to my stomach is a Texas state income tax...

Did Dewhurst really support that? One of the things that makes this state a good place to live is the fact that they aren't skimming money from us right off the top the way the Feds do...and once an income tax is in place, the only way for the percentage to go is UP...taking from those that produce to hand out for votes...has anyone looked at California? I want them to eat their mistakes out there, as a warning of what NOT to do...and I sure can't vote for someone who wants us to walk down the same road that has lead California into the cesspool they are wading in...

I found a site somewhere that vetted many of the claims about different politicians. They said this was not true. I'll see if I can track the site down.

None of the above, Another candidate is missing from the list. Glenn Addison is the strongest proponent of the Constitution.

Me too.

I thought I was for Ted Cruz for a long time, even overlooked the whole Goldman Sachs thing (his firm represents them, his wife is a VP), then he started bragging about Mark Levin endorsing him. Seriously, I can't think of any neocon more vile than Mark Levin, wants to bomb everyone.

Thats' when I found Addison. He's' not polling good, not getting publicity, but I'm voting my conscience for Glenn Addison.

There WAS a Texas wage tax proposal in the last session. Truitt, Strauss and many others supported it. Now, like Obamacare, none of the people who were in power at the time that it was on the table for discussion want to talk about it. Where is the video clip from Dewhurst at the time of the wage tax discussion vigorously defending against it? My new standard for politicians is if they are in power and not vigorously fighting against an idiotic proposal like the Texas wage tax, they are, by default, supporters of it.

The thought of sending another Senator from Texas who is like KBH has been make me shudder. When was the last time she was against any of the stupid thing that the Libs have tried to do since 2006 when they won the Senate?

Like so many of the races, this one, to me, is not about picking the best candidate but about picking the one who is most likely to defeat Dewhurst. He has too much political muscle behind him to approach it any other way.
