Bradys help write the news again?

Remember the guy who was in the shootout with NYPD in Times Square yesterday?

Turns out he was carrying a "machine pistol", and the "assault weapon" (luckily) jammed after two rounds were fired. The MAC-10 was stolen in Virginia (?) in October, and the guy apparently had some anti-cop nuttiness written on a gun store business card.

Link to forum-friendly version (without Tiger's mistresses showing their 'assets' all over the place):

Good job, NYPD.

Bad job, NY Post and your uninformed (or agenda driven) editors.

I Love this part
As he arrived home last night, another sibling, Anthony, cried out, "They shot my brother!"

"I want justice," said their mother, Ancela Martinez, outside the Midtown North station house.

"That was my beloved son," she said. "I want to know why the cop didn't shoot him in the leg or something."

Kelly said a preliminary investigation indicates the sergeant followed proper police procedure.

Also at the precinct house was Sharanda Martinez, who said she and Raymond had been married seven years. "All I know is that my son doesn't have a father," she said

why didnt they shoot him in the leg or something, after he pulled a gun on the cops, after he fired 2 times.

They move from anti-gun to scare mongering to criminal sympathizers all in one article!

Oh come on now, if everybody that had FTF's with a MAC did that, they'd be out of business. ;-)

There are two possibilities.

1. This news story is a big hoax.

2. "Gun Control" doesn't reduce crime or violence.

well it was in the middle of a business transaction, so there could be a case there.

Um... Is it number 2? Do I win a prize for being right?

Please.....Gun Control does Work.....look at the UK ,since they have banned guns, knife crime has gone through the roof, more people get stabbed in the UK than anywhere else in the world. Geeze.....DUH! As a matter of fact there was a poor family in London recently where criminals were posing as pizza guys and they stabbbed the guy so bad there was blood spatter all over his 18 month child and his wife was hiding in the bedroom....WHY because you silly fools she didnt have a gun to defend her family. Seriously! Come one!!

Sorry I had a mental breakdown from far left liberal jargon today. Forgive me for the dripping sarcasim.

The UK is a great example of misidentifying the problem. I wonder why certain people aren't seen as the issue rather than focusing on the objects the people use?

A guy I work with here is from the UK (accent and all) and after I got tired of listening to him drone on an on about how great the UK is and how gun crime is down, I let him in on that little fact (that knifing and other violent crime went through the roof). His response "that is just lies told by the NRA".

He told me that he hates guns and cant stand to be around them, etc. If he only knew...... ;-)

Please rest assured that we're not all like that. I'm an Englishman (and a Texan by marriage) and I'm here to tell you that it wasn't only knifing and other violent crime that increased.

In the 10 years immediately following the UK's handgun ban, gun crime actually doubled. So that worked well, then. Not.
