Now Justice Stevens might retire?

I emphasize the "might", as the "experts" are reading between the lines so to speak.
If it does happen, once again, a lib will replace a lib; but once again, the clock will be reset significantly as Stevens is 89 years old.

Well, he is 90+ years old. It won't really change the court until Kennedy moves on.

Your right, the balance shouldn't change any when Stevens retires. However, the potential replacements that are being discussed are, well, frightening!
Now, keep in mind that this is coming from a very liberal rag,
The LA Times, but as I have said many times in other threads, the extreme liberal's strategy is to attack from EVERY angle. This article is rather lack-luster, and doesn't really say anything new that we didn't already know, but the very last sentence is a little peak behind the curtains, into the depths of radical extremism this administration is capable of.

Another possible candidate for a Supreme Court seat would be former University of Chicago and Harvard Law School professor Cass R. Sunstein, who was chosen by Obama to head a regulatory affairs office in the White House.
Scared yet??
The good news is that Sunstein is way too radical to even be considered by Congress, but the thought process is there.

As the WH has already greased the skids for Sunstein's nomination at some point, this is alarming. A fruit loop ike Sunstein on the bench would make a change to the lifetime appointments and necessitate the ability to have a justice removed by the people.

A fruit loop like Sunstein
Understatement of the year. Imagine the offspring of cross-breeding Sunstein to Lani Guinier, another whackadoo legal scholar of the Clinton era.
