I just wish the voting public would pay more attention to what candidates do and less to what they say. Perry isn't near constitutional or conservative enough for me but he is far better than White. We don't need an Obama clone in charge of this great State.

He certainly can wiggle around the issue, can't he? Just because he owns guns doesn't mean he thinks any of the rest of us heathens should have any.
Ditto. I'll go so far as to say I can't stand Rick Perry, and yet he will still get my vote.

Perry is a snake - a cheap, corrupt weasel. He reminds me of Edwin Edwards, former 'king' governor of Louisiana.
But he is probably a better manager than Bill White and he certainly is more in line with most of my issues. Other than replace Lee Brown (who BTW talks just like the preist in The Princess Bride), I can think of very little good to come from his time as Mayor of Houston.
On the single topic of 2A issues, the Libertarian candidate, Kathie Glass, might actually be just as opposed to any and all infringements as Rick Perry. But I don't know that she is electable or that she would be as effective as Perry will likely be. Sometimes being a bit corrupt equals 'getting things done' - you just have to hope and pray they are the right things.

The last poll I saw had Glass polling at less than 2%, so I don't think she's a contender.terryg wrote:Perry is a snake - a cheap, corrupt weasel. He reminds me of Edwin Edwards, former 'king' governor of Louisiana.
