I'd wager a couple of bucks that the group was originally going to be called Mayors Against Guns but some slick marketing guy proposed to throw the "Illegal" in there as a way to soft peddle the group.

what a clip is to a magazine.

I sent her a note to the effect that illegal guns are bad, but that MAIG is nothing but a Bloomberg political front for gun control. I told her I would not support her if she stayed in MAIG.

Thank you for writing to me. As a member of both the U.S. Conference of Mayors and
Mayors Against Illegal Guns, I support stronger gun laws in America. Although I do not agree
with all of the Mayors Against Illegal Guns Coalition concerns, I do agree with the group’s
basic mission and that tougher gun regulation is necessary.

As Mayors, we are duty-bound to do everything in our power to protect our residents,
especially our children, from harm. I support eliminating loopholes that allow private sales
without background checks. I support—to the maximum extent of the law—punishing
criminals who possess, use, and traffic in illegal guns. I support work to develop and use
technologies that aid in the detection and tracing of illegal guns. And I support holding those
accountable who break the law by knowingly selling guns to straw purchasers.

I do not, however, support restricting the right to continue to hold a legally obtained conceal to
carry license, which I personally have.

There are so many other ways she's proven she can't make good decisions, show good moral values, or be trusted with the duty of governing our society, I can't even get excited about this. Of course she's against guns (but don't worry, she has a license). She's a fence sitter (and that's all I can say to avoid violating forum rules)...

Yep, ATF calls them silencers. And I would also add that the Sig Sauer rep at the NRA convention corrected me when I said “suppressor” and told me “you mean our silencers”.

They dont even come close to what has been out on the market for quite awhile. And they are ugly. They look like somthing made in someones garage with a hax saw,a soldering iron and a can of krylon.
