Curious... Has the firearm community ever gone on the offensive? Gone after the NFA or other laws that might not make sense? Kept the fight in the Anti's face to keep them on the defensive because we want to regain our lost liberty?

So, lots of folks think that obama has relaxed and depressed over his temporary setback??

http://theconservativetreehouse.com/201 ... y-support/

WELCOME TO THE GUN BAN ROADSHOW! OBAMA AND BIDEN ARE GOING TO TAKE IT TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE!

With the unlimited resources (money printing presses running at full speed) at their disposal they will take the gun ban to the streets and backroads and show the NRA and all the knuckledraggers clinging to their guns and religion that we need to be disarmed!
Vice President Biden said he and President Obama will tour the country making the case for gun control laws – the centerpiece of which is a requirement that all gun buyers submit to a federal background check.
Background checks are just the appetizer folks!!

Did we really win? The full court press will continue. Bills will be introduced. The media will call them common sense measures and will bump any story involving firearms to the front page. The talking heads will continue to demonize us and put on nut jobs that claim to speak for us.

Should another Sandy Hook happen while those bills are on the floor, all bets are off.

They don't have to get one big win, they just have to keep getting little wins.

My husband and I are really tight financially these days, but we both took the $300 NRA upgrade to life memberships. We must do all that is in our power to push back against this or the sharks will take our complacence as encouragement that they will win. I have written several letters to my representatives. All but one are staunch supporters of the Second Amendment. Wendy Davis is...well so dang anti that she needs to be shipped forthwith to New York where she will fit in nicely. She won re-election by a sliver since her opponent was all thumbs in his campaign. I write her anyway as her constituent just to annoy her :evil2:
I can imagine Obama is indeed livid over the numbers of firearms flying off shelves, over the lack of bowing and scraping to his wishes, and over the fact he apparently wants this "feather" in his cap as the crown for his second term. He is a determined man and he has a lot of built up resentment. It shows in his face. We must stand firm and not back off one inch.

I've wondered about this too, but with recent decisions by the SCOTUS, say the last 30 years or so, it might not do any good. I've specifically wondered about going after the Miller decision that was based on factually incorrect information.

I bumped my membership to Patron, though I'm "semi-retired."

Are any of y'all monte python fans? Do not underestimate this man. He is like that knight on Monte python and the holy grail. He could figuratively lose his legs in an argument, next his arms, and his will still try to come over and bite your knees. If we want to win this fight we have to demolish every bit of political capital he has on this issue.

That was the funniest scene I think was ever done in a Monty Python movie. The image of that scene only with Obama playing the part made me laugh out loud. Thanks :biggrinjester:

Yep... Voters need to vote... And stop this lesser of 2 evils Bull. Find a candidate that isn't just spewing what they think you want to hear. If you want change....vote for me!

It's sickening that people could be pro 2nd and pro gun control...that's almost as oxymoronic as actually hearing the thundering silence.

With the pack of government wolves already in the pasture the lambs are coming closer to slaughter with few sheepdogs to protect them.
Chl class for me and wife=$225. Chl application fees =$280. Chl gear for 2=more $ the previous. Moving from sheep to sheepdog = priceless

One of my (now former) Facebook friends has declared me a dangerous person. I hope bambam doesn't hear about it and come after me.

My theory is this: the firearm community is by nature more conservative than others, and that conservatism leads to a natural reticence to "get loud and proud." This is a major reason why our voice gets drowned out. But once we get aroused enough to speak out from a united front in large numbers, we are a very powerful force. It's not just the 300+ million guns in private hands, it is the 100 million plus households with guns, which represents a majority of households in the country. The problem is that those households have to perceive an attack on a common interest for them to unite the way we've seen in the past few days and overcome their natural reticence to speak out. That alone should be a sign of how overt the attacks on us have been.....that it aroused a group of people who normally keep quiet and suffer to stand up and be counted.
