Either its just a true freak coincidence or the mass media vultures are running a variation of their usual game of "it was an AK" when it was actually any number of rifles used in whatever crime they are reporting on. Their knowledge of firearms is so bad to begin with (and they have zero desire to learn) that its hard to say which.
I don't believe they really understand that it's a brand. I think they believe that "Bushmaster" is a generic term for AR15......and that maybe the few who actually do know are doing it on purpose to fan the flames, just like back when people were freaking out because they thought that Glock's specialty was plastic guns that wouldn't show up on metal detectors.
I think they do it because they are Bushhamsters.

Just the really expensive, German made porcelain Glock 7's...
Range Rule: "The front gate lock is not an acceptable target." Never Forget.

So you're saying that like the United States Rifle, Caliber .30-06, Model 1903 is known as the Springfield, or the US Rifle, Cal. .30, M1 is known as the Garand, they THINK that the AR-15s "nickname" is the Bushmaster. Well that wouldn't surprise me one little bit.

I guess the Austrians didn't have the requisite skills required to make 'em out of procelain?
Thousands upon thousands of our US citizen's on our southern borders (I doubt are mostly white Mr. Moore) are being told a slingshot will do for your self protection. You don't need this or that because I don't in my cushy little community and lifestyle. Drug cartels are loving this. Next best thing to being handed the very equipment they want to ban. Wait, that was said to not be true. My bad
Tomorrow is the most important thing in life. Comes into us at midnight very clean. It's perfect when it arrives and it puts itself in our hands. It hopes we've learned something from yesterday. John Wayne
