Cheaper than dirt backtrack and re-start selling on-line.

As the name indicates, this is the place for gun-related political discussions. It is not open to other political topics.

Academy, Walmart, and Cabelas, BassPro.
CDNN.
I had a 20 min conversation with the gun counter manager at Academy in Mesquite. He was informed that Academy was out of the AR business. He was already sold out. He assumed that stores with remaining inventory (if there was any) would be allowed to sell it but the Academy chain would not be carrying ARs in the future.

He personally was not upset by news as he claimed their profit margin was so small on ARs that it really wasn't worth the hassle. The only semi-auto rifles they had in stock were .22s and none of those were of the AR or even the 10/22 variety.

I believe all of the chain sporting goods stores will do the same. Even without legislation being passed I believe we will see an end to the sub $1200 entry level AR. This will make ownership cost prohibitive for many that would otherwise purchase.

It's a business. If they can't make a decent profit they don't have to sell it. But if they try to gouge, they will probably lose customers, and they probably should.
