As the name indicates, this is the place for gun-related political discussions. It is not open to other political topics.

Walmart employee refuses to print photo that includes a gun

In Dallas, no less, because, you see....this photo promotes "gang culture":

Fortunately, the store manager isn't a nut case like the employee:
The puzzled pair then spoke to the store's manager who told them the employee had been misinformed, printed their photo and gave them a gift card.
It's amazing how these left wing anti-gun nut jobs won't print a photo that includes a gun in a store that sells guns, but they want to shutdown Christian bakers who don't want to bake cakes for homosexual weddings and Christian photographers who don't want to photograph them. But I guess that's because, them being morally superior and all, what they want trumps what everyone else wants. There is no greater religious zealot than a modern liberal.

If they were black, posing with an AK, wearing baggy clothes, would that still be OK?

I honestly don't care. If the store doesn't want to print any guns, go somewhere else forever. If the employee didn't want to do it, fine, let the employer deal with it and if she felt she couldn't live with the rules, find another job.

Plus, Walmart sells guns and ammo.

I've bought a multitude of guns from Walmart and a truck load of ammo over the years.

Granted, not every Walmart sell guns, so maybe this is one where such aren't sold, but so what?

There's no group more intolerant than leftists/liberals.

I hope the Walmart manager who corrected his employee's actions either fired him/her or at least give a severe verbal hiding.

I saw this on the news the other night. Grossly uninformed employee who's been "talked to". :rules:

This isn't a gun issue. It's about the level of intelligence of a particular Walmart employee that doesn't quite pass the bar. It's not even based on store policy.
Does that really surprise anyone? You get what you pay for with employees.

I think you're wrong on that one.....the not understanding policy claim is just understandable cover for denying the existence of a rouge employee. This is not the first time anti-gun nuts working at Walmart have been in the news. A while back there was an incident of a Walmart employee refusing to sell ammunition due to his anti-gun agenda.

According to the article, the manager printed the photo himself. If it was merely an employee who misunderstood policy all he'd have had to do was tell the employee he/she didn't understand the policy and tell him/her to print it. If it was really about policy, the employee would have called the manager over to clarify and defend his/her position. The policy doesn't say anything about photos with guns. Walmart sells guns. This is about an employee using what little power he/she has to impose their will on a customer.

It was a nut with an agenda. My guess is that Walmart probably has them on both sides of the issue. It was a stupid thing to do - someone made up policy. It was corrected by the manager. Dumb people do dumb things.

Oh, that they do. They've also had pharmacists refusing to fill prescriptions for various types of birth control. I have no tolerance for any employee refusing to do any part of the job they voluntarily signed on to do. I don't want to enforce drug laws, so I don't work for the DEA. However, if I'd signed on for the DEA and decided all the other stuff was ok but I wasn't going to enforce the laws regarding marijuana, I should be fired.

Unless the subject matter is clearly illegal (e.g., kiddie porn) a Walmart employee should be required to print ANYTHING a customer brings in. This should be made clear when they're hired.

And if they don't, they ought to be fired for cause.

As I've said over the years - and as others have already observed in this thread - there are few things more INtolerant than a liberal/leftist with a measure of power or authority.

You snipped out the best (read most insulting to a liberal) part. Liberals despise religion and claim to be above it. The reality is that liberalism IS a religion with man replacing God.

Nah, the gun costs less and is easier to replace. You're just being sensible. :biggrinjester:

I get the sentiment, but I don't agree that progressive zealotry should be compared on par with religion. Sarcasm, sure.

But my guess is that no Walmart employees refused to print photos because they didn't have guns in them........so yeah, there are eejits on both sides of the aisle, but on our side, they are limited to open carry demonstrations in a walmart, but nobody is forcing someone liberal to include guns in their family photos if they don't want to. That kind of asinine is reserved for antis alone. Our side may exercise their rights a little too zealously sometimes, but their side is all about crushing rights.
