Make it stop! Oh the idiocy! The stupidity and the fools. Please make it stop!
God Bless America, and please hurry.

Unfortunately, this makes perfect sense to me. These are the same zero tolerance people that suspend kids for drawing pictures of guns, making a gun shape with their finger on the playground or eating a pop-tart into the shape of a gun.......

I think this applies particularly well here:
"Those who can, do; those who can't, teach."
Prov. People who are able to do something well can do that thing for a living, while people who are not able to do anything that well make a living by teaching. (Used to disparage teachers. From George Bernard Shaw's Man and Superman.) Bob: I'm so discouraged. My writing teacher told me my novel is hopeless. Jane: Don't listen to her, Bob. Remember: those who can, do; those who can't, teach.

I suppose it would be safe to say that CHL instructors would be exempted from the above proverb. ;-)

You must have your asbestos lined gloves on to use a Woody Allen quote in a thread about schools. Too hot to touch!

Jack Black said that in "School of Rock."

What big babies! Perhaps we should serve minced meat and puréed peas in the teachers lounge. Served with a nice soppy cup full of formula. Really? They are scared of a picture....I really have no words. I put that right above being scared of the vacuum cleaner.

It was only by sheer weight of numbers were they able to win "The War of Northern Aggression".

They also had industry, the shipping power to blockade, recent irish and German immigrants to use as cannon fodder and enough diplomatic clout to keep Europe from assisting their economic ally.

When I was young, the saying was "Those who cant teach, administrate."
I sincerely apologize to anybody I offended by suggesting the Second Amendment also applies to The People who don't work for the government.

Woody Allen in "Annie Hall" [1977]. “Those who can't do, teach. And those who can't teach, teach gym.”

School of Rock [2003]. Funny movie! I will have to watch it again and look for that line.

No disrespect for teachers is intended. :tiphat:

:iagree: You are correct. I didn't mean to include my [football coach] drivers education teacher, but that's a whole different thread.

I grew up from age 11-21 in a far western suburb of Chicago. Spent a bunch of time in the city and saw the unbelievably corrupt Illinois politics and Daley "machine" in action. When I was older, I'd go into gun shops and the guy behind the counter couldn't even figure out how to operate a 1911 to lock the slide back and show it to me (same issue with the police "inspection" in Michigan, but that's another story....). These people (in the cities) are completely clueless about firearms. They are like many from the east and west coast; they fear guns, and don't understand why anyone would need one. Different story once you get out into the farmlands. In fact, in that region, given the rate of heart attacks, they should post a NO BRATWURST sign at the entrance to every building - the brat should be WAY more feared than the gun....;)
