Mayors Against Illegal Guns but don’t list our names.
It appears that belonging to MAIG is something the mayors aren’t proud of. I could not find the names of member mayors anywhere on their site. Seems like being a member is not good for one’s career.
They do have a ticker with the names of Cities on it.
God Bless America, and please hurry. When I was young I knew all the answers. When I got older I started to realize I just hadn’t quite understood the questions.-Me
That is what I ran into. They also had this link on their home page. When clicked on it went no where and suddenly that link on their home page is gone.
Hope this means they are re-evaluating their position.

I noticed from scanning the list Austin and Brownsville TX are both listed. So, let's say Brownsville has an election and they get a new mayor. That individual has no idea he's on the list. Let's say he does and contacts MAIG and says "Take me off your list." Will they?
It really is easier to just list the city and state. It's real easy to look up the mayor of that city.
The new roster, which appears as a scrolling list in the redesigned site, now only gives the names of the cities, not of the mayors. As some have speculated, that could be because the number of serious lawbreakers and other out-and-out embarrassments in the rank of mayors has been easy to point out in the past, so just listing cities would add a layer of political insulation for MAIG as well as its individual members.
............... This move toward obfuscation and deflection could (and should) open the door to other criticisms, including citizens demanding their cities be removed from the list unless there is a recorded resolution passed by their elected council representatives, or insisting that the name on the list be that of the individual who perceived it advantageous to join up.
I am not a lawyer. This is NOT legal advice.! Nothing tempers idealism quite like the cold bath of reality.... SQLGeek

Oh SNAP - what the MAIG-gots have done is (mis)represent those cities as being onboard with their agenda as a matter of municipal policy. It will probably take legal action to make those despots give any ground to undo that and even then that's probably not going to be a sure solution. They figure they can pull any stunt they like and not face any serious consequences - and so far they haven't.
