The Democratic Party has taken an anti 2A stance all over America. Voting for a democrat in Texas is not a benign vote. It is adding to the power of the party that wants nothing less than confiscation as soon as it can get there and still stay in power. I live in Wendy Davis' district. She has never once responded to a single letter or any other communication no matter how polite. I believe Charles commented that listening to her makes him "ill".

A search of the forum turns up some threads where she is discussed:

JMRA, don't take this the wrong way but that is exactly what the left will be counting on the next election! If anyone would like to bet a good steak dinner against the following let me know!

Here is the line up for the next Gov. race in Texas:

Democratic Ticket- Wendy Davis
Republican Ticket- Greg Abbott (or some other viable candidate)
Third Ticket- a solid Tea Party or otherwise appealing candidate designed solely to split the conservative vote.

Worked for the Dems in VA and I am sure they will use the same tactic here in Texas. This play is in solidly in their playbook and we better keep it in mind during future election cycles!

This! Watch out! The "libertarian candidate" which was anything but killed us here in VA! Be wary! Keep your heads up and on a swivel.....the wolves are using decoys wearing tea party posters.

You made an incorrect assumption. I will not be voting third party. I will be voting for Abbott.

Just received this.
Sen. Wendy Davis has raised $8.7 million from liberals in New York, California and Washington. A shady shell group has raised $3.5 million to aid her and is working to turn Texas blue. Obama wants nothing more than to see them succeed. That is why we need your help now, more than ever, to protect our state.

It’s a new year and as the election gets closer we can’t afford to have our allies standing on the sidelines. With so much at stake we are going to need everyone to stand with us and keep Texas red.

We need your support to achieve our goal. It's time to get off the bench and get in the game. Will you show us you’re fully invested in this race to preserve our state and her values by contributing $5 today?

This election will be a test of our determination, and dedication to the conservative principles. We cannot let the Democrats win this time and give them an advantage in every national election for years to come.

Can we count on you to help keep Texas red? Contribute $5 today!

Sincerely,

Sarah Whitley

I got the same email and donated to Mr. Abbott.

Ted Cruz needs to get behind him to move the Tea Party solidly behind him. What we can ill afford is another VA "libertarian clone"!

If you carry a gun, people call you paranoid. Nonsense! If you carry a gun, what do you have to be paranoid about?

It's a hard knock life for Wendy. She got divorced and then turned around and married a wealthy guy who supported her financially while she went to school.
Socialists are easily startled but they'll soon be back, and in greater numbers.

It sends chills up my spine knowing that the current administration took an active interest in Wendy. I do not want this admin's cronies in Texas planting seeds. Keep Texas for Texans! :txflag:
I keep getting emails from Obama PAC and Obama managers (got singed up by a "friend" as a prank) saying that they're really pushing to make Texas blue and are funneling money and people here like crazy.

Davis is courting teachers big time. Promises of state money, federal money, and feel-good programs. She is getting a lot of support from Texas AFT, which is Chicago-based and heavily tied to the AFL-CIO. A lot of people will take that bait without looking for the hook inside of it. If you know anybody leaning that way be sure they know that federal money WILL come with federal strings attached that make no-child-left-behind look like a cakewalk.

The Feds are already rolling on all of that, using Common Core as a fulcrum to move State control to the Federal level. A Gov Davis would simply make that movement easier and faster. This is another force at work in that discussion.
One of the critical issues facing the next governor is a judge's verdict that Texas' system to finance public schools is unfair and insufficient. District Judge John Dietz opened a second phase of the trial Tuesday to hear new evidence that could sway how he writes his final opinion.

From that same article
While Democrats elsewhere have called for tighter gun laws, Davis said she owns a handgun for protection, plans to obtain a concealed handgun license and supports legislation that allows workers to keep guns in their vehicles at work.

So not only is she pro-gun but she is going to fight her own party over that issue.... And this is just after she got caught telling all the whoppers about her personal life and then defending them as needing to "tighten my language." If she doesn't win the governor's race, she will be selling land in Florida.
