How gun rights lobbying influences policy
This is a short academic article (http://www.voxeu.org/article/guns-and-votes) testing several straightforward hypotheses about how pro-gun rights lobbying affects votes in the U.S. Senate. If there is a takeaway, it would be to keep up the intense pro-gun rights lobbying.

I do find a flaw with what they are saying. Specifically, they quote polls from liberal-progressive sources to show very high support for gun-control. However, when you look at the big pollsters, such as Gallup or Rasmussen, those numbers are much lower.

Despite that, the article gets it correct about the NRA and its members, by and large. We ARE more focused, and we need to keep it that way.
