"However, felons, domestic abusers, and others prohibited from having guns can easily evade the required background check and gain access to machine guns or other particularly dangerous weapons by registering the weapon to a trust or corporation."
Uhh - since when do criminal types bother to register their weapons? This EO is typical Obama rhetoric and only meant to satisfy the anti-firearm crowd's whimpering.
“Only at the end do you realize the power of the Dark Side.”
"This new policy will help keep military-grade firearms off our streets."
Yet the ATF acknowledges that these "military style assault weapons" only show up at less than 3% of all crimes and I have never seen a gang drive by done with anything that is re-imported by the CMP.
Does anybody know if the NFA related portion goes into effect emediately? If not, how long? And also, if I submit paperwork before it goes into effect will it still be approved?

This just shows that this administration is full of a bunch of idiots.

Only difference is trust and corp now go through a background check.
Oh what will all the nefarious criminals do now that their access to $15k and up guns has been eliminated? As though misguided inner-city youths were ever in the market at all. This is just ridiculous on so many levels.............

Yup that was my first thought too, along with wondering how many criminals need a class 3 weapon and are either forming trusts or corporations to utilize the "loophole".

Mike Piccione, in an article for the Daily Caller, says that today's executive order would effectively shut down the 110-year-old Civilian Marksmanship Program.

Obviously, the only "military grade firearms" being re-imported in any quantity are M-1 Garands and M-1 Carbines. There are a large number of these in storage in South Korea that some folks tried to bring in a while back. The current administration stopped this, but I guess that was temporary. This new EO pretty much permanently stops them from coming in. Once again, this little childish gesture by the administration just gives me another reason to despise them.
My brother has been buying surplus for years in quantity. I always disregarded him buying all the -200 surplus guns... I think he may have just become wealthy.
