Obama to use HUD to compel diversity in your neighborhood

The policy is called, "Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing." It will require HUD to gather data on segregation and discrimination in every single neighborhood and try to remedy it.

HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan unveiled the federal rule at the NAACP convention in July.

"Unfortunately, in too many of our hardest hit communities, no matter how hard a child or her parents work, the life chances of that child, even her lifespan, is determined by the zip code she grows up in. This is simply wrong,” he said.
The liberal utopia is just around the corner.

The whole idea is repugnant. Not to mention extra-Constitutional. What debt?

its accually quite simple. cheap houses attract a certain element expensive ones dont. haves and have nots. No middle to upper class neighborhood is going to allow just anyone to move in. People complain about HOA's but they do have a purpose.

Why would a HOA have a say in who can live there? If you can pay for the house, you get to move in.
I am not a lawyer, nor have I played one on TV, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, nor should anything I say be taken as legal advice. If it is important that any information be accurate, do not use me as the only source.

Another step towards becoming Britain.
If you carry a gun, people call you paranoid. Nonsense! If you carry a gun, what do you have to be paranoid about?

I guess you have never seen an HOA's power to harass and encourage people to move.

Nope. As long as I'm not breaking any rules, what can they do? And why would they do it?

HOAs will allow anyone who can afford a house there and agrees to abide by the HOAs rules to buy and move in. Of course, if after moving in, you don't abide by the rules you agreed to, they will and do impose fines and otherwise harass you. Personally I always liked living in HOAs.

If you think getting poor people to live in expensive neighborhoods is tough, try getting affluent folk to live in poor neighborhoods!

After the complete pig's breakfast Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac made of the residential market from which the nation has not yet recovered, one would hope that these cockamamie schemes would be hooted down enthusiastically and the proponents run out of town.

Communist nonsense, of course.

In my neighborhood, increasing diversity would mean a larger Asian population and more unmarried heterosexual women. I'm OK with both initiatives.

TAM, One might "hope" it, but I for one don't expect it.

Also...
The policy is called, "Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing." It will require HUD to gather data on segregation and discrimination in every single neighborhood and try to remedy it.
So "Fair Housing" wasn't enough, now we have to have "Affirmatively Furthered" fair housing? Is that the same as "More Than Fair" housing? Remember, if something is "more than fair" to one side, it's "less than fair" to the other.

I hope the Democrats enthusiastically support the idea. Nothing will drive people away from them faster than messing with the value of their home and ruining their neighborhood. My suggestion would be to start with places like the Hamptons, Kennebunkport, Martha's Vineyard, etc. Let's get those Democrat enclaves faired up. Yeah, that's the ticket.

Fear not- whatever the plan finally becomes it will not affect the neighborhood your congressman lives in because they will be exempted. Let's all move in next to our congressman. But they won't release their home addresses to the peons (us) so I guess we stay in our segregated little areas. There seems to be no end to the idiots in charge in devising plans to further destroy this country.
