I'm a liberal that would have done the same as Zimmerman

Just wanted to add that not all libs are libtards or pacifists. I have 6 weapons and 20k rounds in my house and have shot guns since my parents first voted for Nixon in 68. I shoot better than most.

I really had no opinion in the Zimmerman case until they placed such an emphasis on the yelling for help on the 911 call. It occurred to me strongly that one "doesn't bring fists to a gunfight".

If you had a gun you wouldn't risk getting in a fight and getting knocked out, that's just common sense. This implies that Martin attacked Zimmerman and that Zimmerman was the one yelling for help.

I witnessed a stabbing murder in Eastern Europe about 20 years ago and it's amazing how a grown man in fear for his life can end up vocalizing like a teenage girl.

Last but not least, while I voted for and supported Obama in 2008 he's been one of the worst presidents we've ever had. Mainly because he continued so many Bush policies, this Snowden garbage, drones, and hasn't done much to help the middle class. I would have voted for Chris Christie in 2012 had he run. At the end of the day most politicians are frauds and the corporations own America.

Welcome :tiphat:

Glad to see yet another liberal with some intelligence on this issue.

But, word of caution, go read forum rules. Certain words/phrases heavily used in other forums are prohibited here. The admins like to keep this place civilized enough that anyone's "9-year-old daughter" could read it.

Yea, the political name calling does no one any good... Neither does grouping everyone who doesn't think like you do into political cattle-call so they can be stereotyped and someone else can define what they believe.
Welcome!

I guess I missed something. I don't see where anything he said here is offensive or against forum rules. :headscratch

I was laughing about that one too...

It's a BIG joke in my family.... Everything that goes wrong is MOM's fault...
And ever since I got married, it's the wife's fault.
Good thing they both have a sense of humor about it. Just like Mr Bush. "rlol"

The part "worst president" had a different modifier earlier.

Me neither.

In any case, welcome to the forum, MaxBerlin!
I am not a lawyer, nor have I played one on TV, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, nor should anything I say be taken as legal advice. If it is important that any information be accurate, do not use me as the only source.

OK - This is where I'm having a problem with " liberals "................or perhaps maybe I don't......

What I guess I'm trying to get at is this - I once considered myself to be a " liberal " ( 4 decades ago ) in the sense that I opposed oppressive , authoritarian policies .....that did not jive with MY logic...... which was largely formed by the public school system's presentation of our U.S. government being anchored by the U.S. Constitution.

I believe the only honest sanctuary for a " liberal " these days is the Libertarian Party. I sense that the Republican Party is beset by far too many " Bloombergs ".

Maybe those of us who cherish the U.S. Constitution can agree to meet over THERE in the Libertarian Party and carry on our " liberal " efforts in the name of LIBERTY.

The reason you don't see anything is because the moderator deleted it [and notified MaxBerlin].

Over the last 40 years the definition of "liberal" has been modified, changed and perverted.

I'm a conservative. In fact I am a Paleo-Conservative. I would not have done what Zimmerman did. I call the cops if there is suspicious activity, and then I move on.
