While its off topic the thread has gone there..

Keep in mind that all this talk of meta data and limited access etc etc is mostly bull
email including attachments is sent as TEXT - unless the email is encrypted the text is CLEAR text which means if they are seeing the header and "meta data" they are ALSO seeing the content. Since it all arrives in a stream....

Even any attachment is mime encoded into text, sent across the web and unencoded at the other end

Even if we could ascertain which rebels deserve to be given arms, there's a high
likelihood that when the dust settles, it will be the most radical of the Islamists who
seize power in Syria. Still in control of the weapons which we have given to them. Sheesh!

Why not. We are giving high-tech fighters to the Egyptian govt. who hates us....free weapons for all who hate the US.

/sarcasm off

Where else are the terrorists going to get weapons effective enough to justify the surveillance state?

I'd say mostly lies instead of mostly bull. They've been getting ALL internet traffic for at least 10 years, including what you stream, all email content and attachments, web searches, website visits, internet purchases, credit card transactions, etc.

Keeping in line with Senator Cruz tweet, we should only send Shotguns to the Syrians. We can have Joe deliver them.

I find it ironic that the U.S. Government is sending military weapons to rebels who are trying to overthrow a tyrannical Government. Yet they want to limit our weapons and rights - for the children.

I also wonder IF any of this data is being used to target conservatives (Oathkeepers, Patriots, Tea Party etc) I also wonder if since "we" believe in the Constitution and the 2nd Amendment, are we targeted as "domestic" terrorists?

This has me thinking... Has my Government labeled me a domestic terrorist?

we petition the obama administration to:
require that Syrian rebels receiving weapons be held to the same restrictions as American citizens.

require that Syrian rebels receiving firearms and other munitions from the US Government receive only firearms legal for US Civilian ownership, and undergo the same background and security checks a US Civilian would, including appropriate NFA tax stamps, and waiting periods.

Excellent idea. Each shotgun should come with instructions to "fire off two blasts in the air to scare off dictators".
