Sorry if this is a double post. I searched SB 346 and didn't get a hit
I got an email from Gun Owners of America saying that SB 3467 was currently on the Governors desk. According to them,
SB 346 introduced by Sen. Kel Seliger in the Senate and Rep. Charlie Geren in the House could require gun groups to disclose their donors’ names.
Governor's number is 512-463-2000. I've called and gone on record as wanting it vetoed.

Re: SB 346
The bill reads, in part:
There there's this in the bill.
Section 250.001(12) reads:Sec. 254.281. APPLICABILITY OF SUBCHAPTER. (a) This
subchapter applies only to a person or a group of persons that:
(1) does not meet the definition of political
committee under Section 251.001(12);
Political contributions is defined in 250.001(5)(12) "Political committee" means a group of persons that has as a principal purpose accepting political contributions or making political expenditures.
Political expenditures is defined in 250.001(10)(5) "Political contribution" means a campaign contribution or an officeholder contribution.
SB 364 defines it thus:(10) "Political expenditure" means a campaign expenditure or an officeholder expenditure.
Would Gun Owners of America even meet this definition? Do they make direct contributions to politicians? Wouldn't their principal purpose be as a political committee? If that's the case, this section doesn't even apply to them, if I'm understanding the law correctly.(c) A person or group of persons accepts political contributions if its members or donors make a payment, including dues, to the person or group of persons and, at the time of making the payments, the members or donors have reason to know that their payments may be used to make political contributions or political expenditures or may be commingled with other funds used to make political contributions or political expenditures.
There there's this in the bill.
So IF this section applies to them, they're only required to reveal donors who gave over $1000 during a calendar year. Their alert appears to be either inaccurate or outright FUD.Sec. 254.283. CONTENTS OF REPORT. (a) Itemization of a contribution under Section 254.031(a)(1) is required only if the contribution exceeds $1,000 during the reporting period.
