Earlier this morning, there was some commentary on Fox News about the whole thing. They told of one Tea Party organization that applied for non-profit status in 2010. After 8 months of waiting and getting nowhere, they changed their name to something like "Greenhouse Solutions." Two weeks later they had their non-profit approved by the IRS.

Now THAT'S working the system!! :smilelol5:

If they'd changed it to "Solar Greenhouse Solutions", they probably could've gotten a few billion dollars in grants.

Benghazi Emails Directly Contradict White House Claims
12:09 AM, MAY 16, 2013 • BY STEPHEN F. HAYES
http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/new ... 24603.html
The White House on Wednesday released 94 pages of emails between top administration and intelligence officials who helped shape the talking points about the attacks in Benghazi, Libya, that the CIA would provide to policymakers in both the legislative and executive branches.

The documents, first reported by THE WEEKLY STANDARD in articles here and here, directly contradict claims by White House press secretary Jay Carney and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton that the revisions of those talking points were driven by the intelligence community and show heavy input from top Obama administration officials, particularly those at the State Department.

Oh it just KEEPS ON GETTING BETTER!!!!

Breitbart.com
Congressman: DOJ Seized House Press Gallery Phone Records
by DEBRA HEINE 15 May 2013
*UPDATED* Congressman Nunes' office released the following statement: “Rep. Nunes was not referring to wiretapping of the cloakroom, but to the seizure of the AP’s phone records from the House Press Gallery in the Capitol. He was explaining that those records would reveal a lot of conversations between the press and members of Congress, since reporters often speak to Members from the press gallery phones. The notion of the DOJ looking at phone records from the Capitol of conversations between Members of Congress and reporters is something that concerns Rep. Nunes, bringing up issues related to the separation of powers.”

Congressman Devin Nunes (R-CA), who sits on the House Ways And Means Committee, dropped a bombshell on Hugh Hewitt’s Show, Wednesday night. Nunes was on the show to talk about his committee's upcoming hearing Friday into IRS-gate. The congressman broke news when he alleged that the Justice Department seized phone records from the House of Representatives as part of their investigation of the AP.

Doesn't make sense to me. He said what he said and was very specific about it and now his media spokesman or whatever is back peddling? What's the real deal? This is like peeling an onion one layer at a time and once you get the tears wiped from your eyes, you realize this layer is tainted also.

Is it impossible for anyone in DC to come forth with truth and honesty? (that was a rhetorical ?)

Hundreds of illegal immigrants with criminal records were released earlier this year as the Obama administration prepared for budget cuts, according to newly released data that challenged claims the program involved "low-risk" individuals.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement released the figures to two top senators, after a three-month delay and under the threat of congressional subpoenas.

Of the 2,226 detainees that were released in February, the department revealed, "622 have been identified as having some type of criminal conviction."

IRS Official in Charge During Tea Party Targeting Now Runs Health Care Office

http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/20 ... re-office/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Sarah Hall Ingram served as commissioner of the office responsible for tax-exempt organizations between 2009 and 2012. But Ingram has since left that part of the IRS and is now the director of the IRS’ Affordable Care Act office, the IRS confirmed to ABC News today.
“Obamacare empowers the agency that just violated the public’s trust by secretly targeting conservative groups,” Rep. Marlin Stutzman, R-Ind., added. “Even by Washington’s standards, that’s unacceptable.”
Wow, are they ready to deny healthcare to people involved in the Tea Party?

This just keeps getting deeper.

The Fair Tax?

#86

Post by Jaguar »

I am posting in this thread, but maybe it deserves it's own.

How do you folks feel about The Fair Tax now?

The IRS is out of control, even The Messiah  seems to have no control over his department and the political attacks and influence is absolutely disgusting. There is no stopping this machine without dismantling it and implementing something new, I am convinced of this. The only workable solution in my opinion is the Fair Tax. A flat tax will not work since it is still an income tax and the IRS is still in power. This just gives jobs and money to lobbyists to re-create their "special" tax breaks for their masters, while congressmen are wined and dinned into submission. It will take time to get back to the level of corruption we see today, but mark my words a flat tax will be corrupt given enough time.

The Fair Tax is different, it eliminates the IRS, making them basically an accounting department for the states. It allows working folks to keep all their check minus voluntarily deductions. It makes honest workers out of corrupt K-Street lobbyists. It cannot be monkeyed with without complete visibility to the public. It cannot be used to target political enemies. It must have the 16th Amendment repealed before it can be implemented, the hardest part in my opinion.

I have supported this since first hearing about it probably 10 years ago. Never has it been as needed as it is now.

[/soapbox]

If there was absolutely no other federal taxation, no fees, no surtaxes, no excise taxes, no anything, then I could support it. And, you can't tell what the individual states are going to do. I seriously doubt you'll get California to give up its income tax, because that is how they punish the rich for being successful and redistribute their wealth to crack whores.

The problem of course is, so what if you repeal the 16th? Congress will find a way to take your money in other ways, because that's what they do, and they don't pay that much attention to the Constitution anyway.

Speaking of the IRS.......

Her successor at the Department of Conservative Persecution is the guy that just fell on his nonexistent sword. If that's what she did to Tea Party orgs, can you imagine how she'll deal with people who have vocally protested the moral bankruptcy of Obamacare? I'll be in deep clinkers if they ever read my posts on the subject on this forum.

That is the plan, no other income for the feds except the Fair Tax. If they cannot live off of 24% of consumer sales and service of the whole United States they don't deserve to exist.

I would suggest the folks living in Commieforni to move, let them tax the crack whores to pay for the crack whores. They'll figure it out eventually.

While that is a problem, tying their hands by making the tax visible to all the people goes a long way. If they want more revenue they have to show it on your receipt at the check out line, it would be pretty obvious if the tax went up overnight.

The problem now is if you ask 10 people how much tax they paid this year, 9 of them will say, "I got $X.XX back". That isn't the question, how much did you pay? Most people have no idea how much they actually paid because they never see it go, vanishes like a fart in the wind, and come the new year they file their returns and, ta da, "I got free money." If the Fair Tax is implemented every time they bought a loaf of bread, doughnut, haircut, prostrate exam, iPad, car, boat, house, houseboat, whatever, they will see what the government takes. I like that. Plus, it is only for new items, so if you purchase an existing home, no federal tax. Plus - plus, if you make a living dealing drugs you have to pay your "fair share" to the feds every time you binge at Taco Bell. No more under the table workers.
