New restrictive gun law I would like to propose.

As the name indicates, this is the place for gun-related political discussions. It is not open to other political topics.

New restrictive gun law I would like to propose.

Two boys were suspended from grade school for using pencils as guns.

I see a problem. I think a new law is needed to fix this problem. Too many children (mainly boys) are being suspended from school for making guns out of pencils, bread, their hands etc. We need to nip this in the bud.

Here is my new restrictive gun law.

"The keep guns out of the minds of small boys and girls law"

No guns may be shown, pictured or used on any kind of mass media until after nine o'clock at night. Broadcast TV, Cable or radio.

No guns may be shown pictured or used in any movie unless the movie has an "R" rating.

No guns may be shown pictured or used in any video game unless the video game has a "Mature" rating.

Actors are prohibited from pointing their finger and going bang until after nine o'clock at night.

DVD boxes may not show actors holding guns, even if they have their trigger finger pointed.

Movie posters or movie coming attractions or movie advertisements must not show guns of any kind.

These laws are designed to make little boys think of bows and arrows, fists, pressure cookers and knives rather than guns when they think of weapons. This will protect them from unwanted suspensions at school and will end the cycle of glamor that currently surrounds guns in the minds of little boys and girls. Thus as they age they will treat guns with respect as the important self defense tools they are.

If guns are truly the cause for all the violence that is attributed to them, then these small restrictions on the first amendment will be a small sacrifice for the security that this new law would provide.

I look for all liberals (especially those in Hollywood) to stand with the gun activists, like me, to support this important new restriction on guns.

Yep, this dog won't hunt...even with tongue firmly planted in cheek.

Well, I do at least agree in part. We definitely need to nip this nonsense in the bud.

No worries... It would never work anyways because "The keep guns out of the minds of small boys and girls law" does not translate to some catchy acronym that is a word such as SNAP or CHIP.

Any law covering this will not work. It is in our genes.

Give a boy a rubber duck toy and he will grab the head in one hand, the feet in the other, stretch it out to point it at something and yell BANG.
If the 2nd admendment only applies to muskets and muzzle-loaders, then the 1st admentment must apply only to the spoken or printed word. Printing must be done on hand presses, news stories must be written in longhand, no keyboards or electric processes may be used.

Y'all missed a few things.

-any computer printer capable of drawing a digitized two or three dimensional depiction of a firearm will be banned from future production, and any currently in use must be phased out of use over an 18 month time period.

--sharpened pencils can be deadly, therefore only pencils which show no sign of sharpening will be permitted.

-the Marine Corps rank of Gunnery Sergeant will be replaced by a more pleasant term. The rank of Princess is being considered.

-children with hearing difficulties sometimes misunderstand spoken English, therefore, the word 'gum' will replaced with 'annoying childhood chewing apparatus'

I disagree with the OP, guns should be on kids mind's. They should be educated about guns and tought how to use them.

Guns are dangerous, we should teach them about gun safety, but they not are not evil.

Their main purpose is to defend against tyranny and oppression from our own government.

They are pretty good tools for defense from foreign invaders, everyday bad guys and hunting too. All the reasons are important for them to be introduced to at a young age so they know how to tell when they are being fed a line of baloney by the establishment and not be unduly infuenced. Instead give them the knowledge to be steadfast in their patriotic beliefs despite the endless barage of propaganda and recognize the attacks on our freedom and liberty.

They are not toys and should not be treated as such. Teach them safety and usage.

Don't believe everything you see in the movies. Separate fact from fiction, truth from lies.

Create little patriots. Give them the tools to believe in the right ideology, not the one that is being force fed to them by the our government, our media and public school system.

This ideology will spill over into other things and hopefully this will reverse some of the wimpification of America.

The children are our future, teach them well and let them lead the way! But we must teach them how to do it right first!

Thank you for listening to my rant. :patriot: :txflag:

What me sarcastic! Never.

But it would be fun for Hollywood having to eat their words, when they can't make any money trying to sell movies and TV shows with out guns.

I know, I should have read the post a little closer, but even the ridiculousness of the suggestions struck a nerve, it sounds like something the anti's would say. Please don't take may comments negatively or argumentatively.

Since my daughter came home from pre-school one day and said "Daddy, you have guns! Guns are bad!" after she saw me put away my carry gun, I've been more than a little upset that someone is feeding her this garbage. The reality of the propaganda machine has finally hit home.

I asked her who told her that and she said it was the teachers at school.

That's totally the opposite of what I am trying to teach her. She is still to young to understand or realize the struggle for her mind that is going on as the establishment tries to indoctrinate her with it's ideology while we are countering it with ours.

So, guns are on kids minds, just not in the way they should be.
