Ted Cruz Doing His Job Again

#1

Post by gthaustex »

I am liking Ted Cruz more and more. Once again, IMHO he is being the squeaky wheel and shining much needed light on the dark corners of the Senate. Any time he can get Harry Reid annoyed, he is doing an A+ job in my book. Cruz is trying to prevent the debt ceiling from being raised again and is using moves that the Democrats have no problem using when they don't agree with the direction things are going. That makes Reid mad......aww....
An annoyed Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid called Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) a "schoolyard bully" during a tense exchange on the Senate floor.

Another indication Reid has lost touch, he refers to Cruz as his "friend". I don't think Senator Cruz sees their relationship as a friendship.

Probably not. Perhaps more like a sibling rivalry where the younger brother is better looking, more popular, smarter........ :smilelol5:

If you don't know much about Senator Ted Cruz, you should research him a little. He is very outspoken about his beliefs, and he makes some very strong points. We are lucky to have him as our senator.

That's standard parliamentary schmoozing. Nobody means anything by it. It's a way to promote the collegiality that doesn't exist while they try to cut each other's throats.

It's kind of like Churchill said, "When you have to kill a man, it costs nothing to be polite."
Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

I love that the Senate majority is whining about the rules now but when it's time to cram a piece of unwanted legislation down the throats of the people, they have no problem exploiting every nuance of the rules.

Finally we are getting Warriors!! I am so tired of those who believe it is far better to be all quiet and polite, even if you lose. Hoorah for Ted Cruz!! :tiphat:
Unless we keep the barbarian virtues, gaining the civilized ones will be of little avail. Oversentimentality, oversoftness, washiness, and mushiness are the great dangers of this age and of this people." Teddy Roosevelt"
