Now that gun-control is dead...

It's not dead, it's only temporarily suspended. The antis will not stop until they achieve confiscation......that's the end game.
Yes you will be able to get an AR-15 at a reasonable price, right after you change your definition of reasonable to what the market is bearing.

I talked to a friend to day who owns a sporting goods store. He sales a lot of firearms. He said today that the suppliers will call him and say they have three of this pistol, one of these shotguns, 4 of this revolvers, etc. . . does he need any.
He said that he has been on back order for S&W Shield magazines for 11 weeks.

When supply has caught up, things will get competitive again.ClarkLZeuss wrote:...will I finally be able to get an AR at a decent price?
I recall Colt's LE6920 selling for $1300-$1500 when Obama was elected in 2008.
Up until this craze, I had seen them for $900-$1000.

That was during his first term, when he had everything to lose by pushing for an AWB. Now he's got nothing to lose.Mike1951 wrote:When supply has caught up, things will get competitive again.ClarkLZeuss wrote:...will I finally be able to get an AR at a decent price?

They're $1100-ish now, sometimes in the $1200's. Depends on the model. Magpul version is a little higher.Mike1951 wrote:When supply has caught up, things will get competitive again.ClarkLZeuss wrote:...will I finally be able to get an AR at a decent price?

Re: Now that gun-control is dead...
Gun control will be a thorn in our sides until every obsessed anti sees the light (never). I am expecting the President to now go after anything he can think of related to guns (such as ammo) in any way possible and for Bloomberg to turn upcoming elections into a circuses pouring his millions into smear campaigning. But we can still savor the victory won this time and thank every person who took the time to send money to the NRA, the GOA, and write and call. Thanks Everyone!

Gun control is hardly dead, it's proponents are busy right now doing pushups.
If you want to retain your 2A rights, there will never even be a single day of rest for the rest of our lives. We need to be vigilant and never again be complacent.
They can't have their socialist utopia while we are still armed, ergo dismantling our rights is their mission #1.

Re: Liberals Panic As They Lose the Gun Narrative

Don't believe for a second that the leftist collectivists/ statists are panicking. They control the media and therefore control the public discussion. They control the educational institutions and therefore control the shaping of ideas and opinions at the most impressionable ages. They control the regulatory agencies of government and darn near have a stranglehold on the courts and therefore control the enforcement and interpretation of the law.
The leftist collectivists/ statists are very vocal, very patient and absolutely relentless. They will not stop. They are very patient and look at things over the long haul. Their time frames are measured in years, decades and generations. Defeat is merely a temporary setback and they are perfectly willing to gain ground by the millimeter if necessary.
They are very good at throwing fits upon losing a minor skirmish as a cover as they regroup and prepare to renew their assault.
By contrast, we have a remarkable tendency to sit back on our heels after winning a minor skirmish, wiping our collective brows, congratulating ourselves on our victory and telling ourselves we can rest now.
Meanwhile, the left never sleeps and they are amassing for the next attack.
Did we really think Heller would stop them? Heller was nothing more than a speed bump.

I agree. This was my first reaction when I read the title of this thread.canvasbck wrote:It's not dead, it's only temporarily suspended. The antis will not stop until they achieve confiscation......that's the end game.

I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, and I won't be laid a hand on.
I don't do those things to other people and I require the same of them.

Re: Now that gun-control is dead...
Confiscation is not dead. It will recycle as long as democrats get elected. FYI I bought a Colt LE 6920 for $1098 plus tax at Walmart on 11/26/12. At that time 223 value packs of 100 were like $39. Obviously before all of this crazy stuff. We will see what happens in the future. There is no question that the AR-15 is a fine rifle but a good AK-47 at this time may be a better buy. Ammo is cheap (relatively) and available. Rifle would appear to be more appropriate for hunting (hogs?). Or even better buy both if you have the money.

Re: Now that gun-control is dead...
Gun control IS NOT DEAD. Anybody who believes that is deluding themselves. These people will be back with the same, or worse, proposals as soon as they can get an excuse. We won a skirmish. The war goes on. This wasn't even a turning point in our favor.
