I think Rangel and Biden are twin idiots whose sister is named Maxine Waters.

Actually the government (Congressional Research Service) came out with their own study of public mass shootings. Since 1983, we've had 547 deaths due to public mass shootings. It does not say what gun was used in that crime, but lets say half were done with handguns, so maybe 250 done with semi-automatic rifles. So from public mass shootings, we get 8.33 deaths per year with semi-automatic rifles. That is such a small infinitesimal statistic.

Now some will say, "But if it saves one life......" That is the absolute worst argument. My counter is, "Well then we should ban all people from having private swimming pools in their backyards, we should not allow people to drive cars that go faster than 80 mph, we should ban people from drinking sodas larger than 16 ounces (ohh wait......) ;-)

As you can see the arguments can keep being made. There is some element of risk in everything we do: with thousands of people dying from alcohol, cigarettes, car accidents, pool deaths, maybe we should ban those too.... If we aren't going to ban those, and they kill more people than these guns, then it must be an attack to fundamentally take away guns from law abiding citizens. It's these types of hyperboles that attempt to scare the uneducated public, they become pawns and sheeps to this agenda to rid our society of guns.

Our politicians instead should focus on growing this economy and putting the regulations in place for businesses to want to invest and create jobs. Spending precious resources, time, and money trying to save 8 lives per year is not where their efforts should be focused on. In the end-unfortunately its the price we pay for our freedom in this wonderful country.

If someone wants to argue about "saves one life", then the argument has to include the number of lives saved by defensive gun use. The 800,00 to 2,500,000 (depending on source) cases per year where a law-abiding citizen stops a violent crime because the citizen is armed far outweigh the number of murders.

[quote="atxscubasteve" we should not allow people to drive cars that go faster than 80 mph, [/quote]

I was going to say more like 10 MPH, but even that wouldn't work as people would still back over children in their driveways. So, it's going to have be ban all cars if we're going to save one life.

The guy is a crook, a liar, and a tax cheat. What more do we want in our politicians? Yet his Harlem based population keep voting him in. What is wrong with this country? What educated person would vote for such a low life except someone with his hand out accepting money to vote or perhaps even voting multiple times. Is this what our boys and girls are fighting for in Iraq and Afghanistan? To keep low-lifes like this in office? It's a disgrace.
