Since the assault weapons ban will not be voted on in the Senate. The Anti gun movement has stepped up a notch.

Yoko Ono has weighed in on the 44th anniversary of their marriage.

The anti's usually count criminals who were shot during the commission of a crime among their stats and also usually multiply the real number by some obscure factor. I have no doubt that the same was done here. Something else to note is that a significant number of those deaths-by-gun occured in areas with very restrictive gun laws.

The number quoted is all firearm deaths including 19,000 suicides. 36,000 or so people died in vehicle accidents in the same period.
