I just moved to Austin in January from Georgia. I'm a conservative but I will remain in the city and do my best to change it from within. Unfortunately for me I do not like country living. It's tedious and incredibly boring to me. Not trying to be insulting, just saying I have lived in the country before and it was just not for me; I'm not a country boy at all. I much prefer suburbs/being near a larger city to being out in the middle of nowhere. Like I said though, I'll remain in metro-Austin and try to effect change from within.

You do need to get out and about more.

It's certainly not Tedious and Boring in the country, we have rattlesnakes , copperheads the odd coral snake, some friendly coyotes , the odd cougar floating about the tree line , scorpions in the bathroom , skunks by the barn, and you call the country boring. Never a dull moment , are you sure you are a conservative ?

Lol, I just meant that country living is not my thing. I'm a transplanted Yankee from waaaaaaaay up north but I can assure you I'm a red, white, and blue conservative American Patriot. Just because I don't like country music or living out in rural areas doesn't mean I'm not a proud part of the VRWC. All that said, I do enjoy visiting the countryside, I just don't want to live there. :patriot: :txflag: :patriot:

I may not look the part but it's quite true. :thumbs2:

I can understand that. True country living isn't for everyone. As soon as our daughter is out of school we are going to move out of the suburbs and get some place where I can make my own shooting range.

It probably won't be as nice as TeXJ's, but it'll be mine if we can do it.

Good luck.

The best way to change Austin is :

Remove the Capitol, UT, what few conservatives you can find and raze what is left to the ground.

I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, and I won't be laid a hand on.
I don't do those things to other people and I require the same of them.

Don’t pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, he’ll just kill you.

The clowns in austin just supported a gun control "symbolic" resolution. Makes me sick.

They want to look at what "guns" are used in crimes. It would be nice if they would compile data on any weapons used in crimes and then actually look at the data instead of ignoring it and going for the scary looking things.
