McMillan Fiberglass Stocks, McMillan Firearms Manufacturing, McMillan Group International have been collectively banking with Bank of America for 12 years.
Today Mr. Ray Fox, Senior Vice President, Market Manager, Business Banking, Global Commercial Banking (Bank of America) came to my office. He scheduled the meeting as an "account analysis" meeting in order to evaluate the two lines of credit we have with them.
He spent 5 minutes talking about how McMillan has changed in the last 5 years and become more of a firearms manufacturer than a supplier of accessories. At this point I interrupted him and asked "Can I possibly save you some time so that you don't waste your breath? What you are going to tell me is that because we are in the firearms manufacturing business you no longer want my business."
"That is correct", he said.
I replied "That is okay, we will move our accounts as soon as possible. We can find a 2nd Amendment friendly bank that will be glad to have our business. You won't mind if I tell the NRA, SCI and everyone one I know that BofA is not firearms-industry friendly?"
"You have to do what you must", he said.
"So you are telling me this is a politically motivated decision, is that right?"
Mr. Fox confirmed that it was, at which point I told him that the meeting was over and there was nothing left for him to say.
I think it is important for all Americans who believe in and support our 2nd amendment "right to keep and bear arms" should know when a business does not support these rights. What you do with that knowledge is up to you. When I don't agree with a business' political position, I cannot, in good Conscience support them. We will soon no longer be accepting Bank of America credit cards as payment for our products,

Bank of America anti 2nd Amendment
I got this today from a Marine vet friend of mine.

Stopped banking with BOA a while back. Thankful I did.

Any one know how the other big banks feel about the evil gun businesses?

Re: Bank of America anti 2nd Amendment
I cannot for the life of me understand why otherwise sensible people insist on doing business with the huge banks, unless of course, they have a regular need to borrow $500 million or so. For everyone else, the big banks are a bad deal.
They are hard to deal with, don't know you from Adam, their fees are exorbitant, inflexible and it is impossible to get a branch manager on the telephone. Of course, some folks don't minding holding while waiting for some gun snapping barely literate person gets on the phone from a phone bank in Pacoima or someplace, Calcutta, maybe.
I can't type out out all the problems I have encountered on behalf of folks dealing with one of the huge banks.
Why not ride that stage coach right out of town and put your business with a local community bank or credit union, be a big fish in a small pond, or at least not a tiny one in an ocean.
Banks like USAA or Charles Schwab have ZERO service charges that I have encountered, they reimburse you for any ATM charges you incur monthly, and the service has been impeccable, for me anyway.
I bet there is at least one small financial institution in your area that would love to have you as a customer, treat you like another human being, love to have you as a customer.
Big banks are bad for you, and your money.

USAA bans legal concealed carry in their branch offices. I have had an account with them for many years, but refuse to use any additional services now (i.e., loans, etc.)JALLEN wrote: Banks like USAA or Charles Schwab have ZERO service charges that I have encountered, they reimburse you for any ATM charges you incur monthly, and the service has been impeccable, for me anyway.

Not sure where now but I read an article that BoA higher ups put a stop to those kind of actions and became neutral.

I am one of the bad guys I guess and yes, I am sensible but didn't think I insisted on anything regarding banks.

I am at two of the top three largest banks in the US and have various services with them. I've personally never had any problems with them and when I walk in to a branch for help, I never have to wait more than a minute and they help me and treat me like a million dollar customer. I don't have any fees with them because of account status and I can find an ATM at every corner. I can't tell you the last time I actually used an ATM though. I spend $0 annually on bank fees and as a matter of fact, I have 1098 from them. One is from a program that paid me more than $200 for just allowing them to transfer change in to our savings account. Every debit transaction was rounded up to the nearest dollar and they matched it 100% up to a certain amount....
Now, if BofA truly is anti 2A, I'll figure out a way to switch.

Thanks for posting that chart. We have been Bank of America customers for about a hundred years. If the corporate stance is anti-gun, then we need to look for another bank. I would like one that has enough branches to be reasonably convenient in the DFW area and that is not posted 30.06.

Credit Unions are always an awesome option, and most are gun friendly! (so long as you don't ask them about it LOL!)TexasGal wrote:Thanks for posting that chart. Yeah its an older story. Kelly McMillan was on GunTalk radio talking to Tom Gresham about it in April 2012 soon after it happened. Here is a link to the Podcast. Its about 23 minutes in when McMillan calls in.RX8er wrote:Looks like this story has been around for a while:baldeagle wrote:I got this today from a Marine vet friend of mine.

I've been doing business (small business account) with Chase since they bought up Bank One. My checks still say Bank One (I don't write many checksTexasGal wrote:Thanks for posting that chart. I opened an account with BofA when I moved to DFW 10 years ago. I closed in in less than a month, after realizing that BofA branch people were about as competent at "banking" as Indian tech support rep is at tech support.
I've heard negative stories about Chase, but haven't experienced anything but good service from them.

Re: Bank of America anti 2nd Amendment
Don't disagree about small banks and credit unions... Heck I work for a medium sized bank... And i have accounts at several banks however, I have my main account at (looking around to make sure no one is looking over my shoulderJALLEN wrote:I cannot for the life of me understand why otherwise sensible people insist on doing business with the huge banks, unless of course, they have a regular need to borrow $500 million or so. I have a credit card with them, a checking account and a savings account. The reasons I do are:
1. There is BOA branch or ATM on nearly every corner
2. There mobile app rocks. I no longer even have to go to a branch to deposit a check
3. The charge me no fees for any of my accounts
4. I rarely have to deal with anyone. I dont want to deal with a person. I have had to call customer service 3 times since I opened the account 14 years ago
5. They will take a deposit up until 8:00 pm and credit my account that day
6. They never put a hold on any of my check deposits
7. The one time I had suspicious activity on my accounts they had me on the phone with the perp was still trying to using "my" card at a grocery store. I lost my debit card once and I had it canceled and a new one in hand in two days.
8. I have been unable to beat the deal I get with my credit card other than my Discover card.
Just my experience and as always your mileage may vary.
