I had an AAR Cuba back in the late 70's that had a pistol grip shifter. Does that count?SSGMWP wrote:It would have to have pistol grip steering wheel for it to be considered an assault vehicle!

Re: What Ban is Next - Assault Vehicles???
To illustrate absurdity with absurdity, a companion bill or amendment to DiFi's "assault weapons ban" should be filed to ban all motor vehicles as there are verifiable stats on deaths by motor vehicles. M.A.D.D. and other organizations should applaud this as it would save countless lives by drunk drivers as no one could drive.
I'm about to email Sen. Cruz about it.

We could do this instead. http://abcnews.go.com/news/t/blogEntry?id=18293929" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Aww, you beat me to it. I was going to call the hood an engine shroud, you know, because it protects from heat and flips up.G26ster wrote:Yes, ban them!
They have many "military type" features"
1. Grips - Called a steering wheel, allowing the user to control the assault vehicle, especially at high speed.
2. Shrouds - Called the hood, that prevents being burned by a hot engine after running at high speed.
3. Silencers - Called mufflers, that allow for stealthy running.
4. Headlights - That allow the user to acquire and accurately track the road in the dark.
5. Accelerator Pedal - That allow an unlimited number of miles, on one push, until the vehicle is out of fuel.
6. Tailgates or Hatches - The thing that goes up!
Nobody needs one of these to go to the Zen, Yoga, workout gym in the daylight!!

They'll most certainly ban my truck. It is green, is 4x4, and also has push bars. Don't those count as militaristic features?

High Cap Fuel Tanks
I think these things are the root of all evil. If you restricted fuel tanks to one US gallon, just think of all the drunk driving fatalities that could be avoided. It's not the person, it is the tool that is the problem.

This would probably help stimulate the economy as well by building millions of new gas stations throughout the US. You could create a "special" license for select people who could have a high cap fuel tank (5 US gallons), they would be subject to random alcohol testing and have an extensive background checks performed to ensure they are "safe".

I guess that would qualify as double redundancy
