Take from that whatever you will.
You'd have to be stupid not to realize this if you were a cop, and I trust that most LEOs are smarter than that, even if they weren't Oath Keepers. Fortunately, at least since I've moved here to Texas, every single LEO I've ever spoken to about the 2nd Amendment has boldly and forthrightly stated, "It's your right." No obfuscation. No prevaricating. No excuses. And no misgivings.

I can't speak for other states, but my distinct impression is that, at least in smaller towns and rural areas, such an order would be disobeyed on principle, if not on suicide avoidance.

So far it's all talk and trial balloons. Nothing has been introduced yet! Most will wait to see which way the wind blows.
If you just run the numbers, there are potentially 100,000,000 million gun owners out there? If some % chose to fight, what politician would want the deaths of 5,000 10,000......100,000 or more Americans on his hands. Yes they didn't have any trouble in Australia or the UK, but here I think it may be different.

Well, don't worry, they're only going to ban handguns with detachable magazines...

From your link:
A recent Gallup poll puts opposition to a legal ban on handguns at an all-time record of 74%.

Despite pundits warning the Democrat Party that it is “political suicide,” the gun control legislation put forth by Senator Diane Feinstein will apparently move forward.
She's crazy. The democrat party is crazy. It's members are crazy for belonging to it.

Gallup Poll: NRA has 54% favorable rating http://www.gallup.com/poll/159578/nra-f ... image.aspx (Obama at 56% http://www.gallup.com/poll/159440/obama ... -2009.aspx, a statistical dead heat)

Gallup numbers do not support new gun control legislation: http://www.gallup.com/poll/1645/Guns.aspx

Gallup: In the wake of Sandy Hook, Americans support strengthening laws regulating sales, but oppose bans: http://www.gallup.com/poll/159569/ameri ... -bans.aspx

Gallup: Americans want focus on police in schools, and mental health: http://www.gallup.com/poll/159422/stop- ... ealth.aspx

This will kill the democrat party if it passes.

I hope it doesn't pass (and I doubt seriously that it will), but I also hope it kills the Democrat party. They have needed to die for a long, long time. Then all we have to do is kill the Republican party, and we can start with a clean slate and elect politicians who understand what voters are.

No argument out of me, for either party. I was just stating the likely outcome. They are like vandals, so focused on stealing the railroad spikes out of the cross-ties that they can't see the freight train bearing down on them. The idiots.

Reading through this thread reminded me of something else that I read recently. I'll provide the link but I'm not going to say that it is factual. I just don't know at this point as I haven't had time to analyze it and had never heard of the writer before. But many of the points mentioned in this thread are covered. If y'all have more background on the blogger (TexasFred) I'm interested.

That reads like the basis of a prologue of a post-apocalypse movie. I don't believe it (except for Obama wanting us to fail as a country), but I don't think I'd be surprised if it was true, either.
I am not a lawyer, nor have I played one on TV, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, nor should anything I say be taken as legal advice. If it is important that any information be accurate, do not use me as the only source.

I read it. I see some of it as things I truly believe that a lot of the far-lefties in the Democrat Party/leadership would LIKE to make happen...whether they can or not remains to be seen.
