Perhaps if a few hundred others were to do the same, it would help cement his resolve to enforce the laws of Texas, regardless of outside influence.

Thanks for the e-mail address link. I sent my expression of respect and thanks:

Mr. Attorney General:

I wanted to drop you a line to say thank you for standing strong in the face of the UN and OSCE regarding their intent to observe our elections process. It's none of their business and I fully respect and appreciate the stand you took. Don't Mess With Texas, indeed!

Mr. Abbot:

Thank you for standing strong in the face of the UN and OSCE regarding their intent to "Monitor" our elections process. It's none of their business and I fully admire, support and appreciate the stand you took. Don't Mess With Texas means more than litter!

I don't like the idea of foreign meddlers "monitoring" US elections, I was talking with some friends and we all agreed it was "intimidating" to have foreigners meddling with the voting process in Texas. So we decided if we see them at the polls, we will retreat to outside the DMZ, call 911 to report voter intimidation, call each other, and start taking photos or video from outside the DMZ. Those of us who get the call, if were available, will come to that polling place. Upon observing the meddlers with our own eyes, we will also call 911 from our own phones to report voter intimidation.

I doubt we'll see any shenanigans where I live but I encourage concerned citizens to make similar arrangements with their friends to protect the right to vote. :patriot:

Here is the list by name and duty station. It looks like we get two females. Are they hoping it will look better for them if two women get arrested on national TV? Regardless, I hope our AG doesn't back down if they try to enter a polling place.

Wonder what "Phase 1" and "Phase 2" is?

I'm curious to know why this is such a big problem in this particular election. As far as I can tell, George Bush first invited this group in to monitor elections in 2004. I don't really have any strong feelings about this myself, and I can't remember having even heard of this monitoring by the OSCE (it's not the UN) being an issue in the past. I'm not trying to start an argument, just seeking clarification.

Although I like W, he did do some things that I do not care for. If he did indeed initiate this then add this to the list.

We don't need no stinking election monitors unless the monitors got enough sand to take care of the likes of the black panther party election "monitors".

When the dems lose the election by one state, and then these ACORN-requested UN "monitors" go around complaining about all the irregularities they "witnessed", you can bet that Obama won't be as gracious as Al Gore was in 2000. More fast-and-furious pandering, obfuscation, executive orders and executive privilege will surely ensue. What's the chance these "monitors" would stand up for the Red team if it was appropriate to do so? Biased, non-American, "observers" have no business looking over our shoulders.

YMMV.

(Did I actually use "Al Gore" and "gracious" in the same sentence? )

They sure appear to be part of the UN:

"The OSCE is a regional arrangement under Chapter VIII of the United Nations Charter and the legal framework for the OSCE's action against terrorism is found in the universal anti-terrorism conventions and protocols as well as the relevant UN Security Council resolutions, in particular UNSCR1373 (2001) - which calls upon all states "to cooperate, particularly through bilateral and multilateral arrangements and agreements, to prevent and suppress terrorist attacks and take action against perpetrators of such acts."

If that's not UN, I don't know what is, and it sure sounds threatening to me. If their charter is anti-terrorism and they are coming soon to a polling place near you in the US, that appears to me to mean that they expect terrorist actions at our polling places. Makes me glad I voted early.

I could not find anything in their self-praise pages indicating that anyone invited them to the US at any time in the past.

Discussing this with other people, the consensus is that, if these invaders of our sovereign nation are able to be identified, they should be singled out and peacefully isolated and protested against - ala Selma sit ins.

Please cite the source of your quote. I am unable to find any reference to what you are describing. It appears that the OSCE is not and has never been part of the UN, but you can think whatever you think to calm your fears.
