Until the article eventually made reference to a 'weapon', I was tempted to point out that there is no pistol on the throwback jersey in the photo.

I tried a couple of years back to buy one of those jerseys but I had no luck finding one. Now I know why.

I'd love one of these retro jerseys. I'll email Billy D and ask him for one!

There was a handgun, specifically a revolver. But there was no pistol.

By the definifition I learned 50+ years ago, a revolver is not a pistol.

...Websters says: "A small firearm operated with one hand." the origin of the word is said to be Czech "pistal"....it's common and proper to call EITHER revolvers or semiautomatics pistols...

Samuel colt called his revolvers, pistols.Image
I never understood the objections to calling ship a boat, a rifle a gun, a revolver a pistol or even a magazine a clip. I drives some people nuts, which makes it just more fun to use the non PC terms. Just because some people don't like the terminology doesn't mean that it is wrong.

If I mention a Handgun clip most people know what I'm talking about. Handgun Magazine might be something different.

I might buy an honest retro Houston jersey. There's no way I would buy an emasculated yankeefied Houston jersey.
