Well, it's basically a neutral statement that "we will abide by the laws of each community (state)" rather than a ringing endorsement of our 2nd Amendment rights.
But that's a heck of a lot better than we get from most other big companies.

Reading this thread, I'm beginning to believe that I'm the only one that doesn't pay $5.00 for coffee not even at Starbucks. I don't believe the stuff the sell for $5.00 can honestly be called coffee.

LOL... no, the five dollar stuff is more of a desert type drink with a couple "shots" of coffee(espresso) in it... but your correct. It is a stretch to call it coffee. How about we call it a "coffee drink" ?

I will confess to being guilty of occasionally standing in line and ordering a non-fat/no whip/venti mocha... . I am well aware that it costs me two punches out of my man card for every time I say it loud enough for the other people in line to realize I am an ole pro at Star bucks coffee ordering. My son in law suggests I go to 7-11 and buy regular coffee and use the flavored creamers...LOL. I don't think he understands.

I will now slink off in shame.

My usual order, in English, is quadrupal espresso (their standard espresso is a double shot to begin with) which puts the other people in line in awe of me, no man card needed.

I emailed Starbucks Directly, see below.

I'm writing regarding the attempted boycott of your company by the National Gun Victims Action Council set for Feb 14th, 2012.
I want to let you know that I, along with many other folks who stand strong with the NRA and the 2nd ammendments are planning on buying your products, espically on Feb 14th.
I know that many people make decisions based on feelings and not facts. I make mine based on facts and I doubt that any citizen leaglly carrying a firearm in your stores has commited a crime of gun violence towards your employees or other customers.
That being said, I will be at one of your stores and will buy a cup of coffee in support of your companies stand to allow citizens to procede with their lives according to the law and the US constitution.
I will be passing this message along to all of my friends and family who are supporters of the 2nd ammendment and the freedoms that come along with that.

Exactly right. I was just reading the press release linked in the OP, and it says (among other tripe):

WHY STARBUCKS?  Currently, Starbucks allows guns and assault weapons to be openly carried in its stores (in 43 states) and concealed and carried in its stores (in 49 states) (See Photos). Starbucks' compliance with the National Rifle Association's Pro-Gun Agenda was exposed in 2010 when members of the "open carry" movement began meeting in popular chains, such as California Pizza Kitchen, Peets, IKEA, Disney and Starbucks openly carrying their handguns and assault rifles. To protect their customers and employees, all of the retail chains—except for Starbucks— banned guns from being carried in their stores.

I thought to myself, "So I can open carry all of my guns in Starbucks now? Wooohoo!

On what planet full of retards do these morons live? And where do they get off making a claim for "all of the retail chains?" I carry my gun everywhere that CHL is a defense to prosecution for doing so. These folks are seriously brain-damanged.
