Oops! Geraldo Rivera says Obama is Dead Instead of Osama

I tried to watch the news on Fox, I really did. But Geraldo is just SO BAD that I had to switch to CNN. He's gotta be, hands down, the worst reporter/talking head on any network. (well, now that olbermanns gone, anyway). From his weird pausing at odd times in a sentence to the nonsensical things he says...I just couldn't take it.

And Bret Baier (sp?) was in studio fairly quickly (definitely before Obama speech) but he kept doing the side chair role for a while as Geraldo continued making a fool of himself in lead anchor chair. They shouldn't yanked Geraldo the second Baier (who is a sound journalist) showed up.

I was horrified when the news starting breaking...and it happened be Geraldo on Fox at the time. It was almost shameful the way he handled it. Thankfully....they got Bret and Greta in there as fast as they could to help temper things.

To Fox's credit...they got Geraldo out of the studio and among the crowds where he belongs.

I literally tried to find another news source to watch last night.

I think it is wise that some are switching to Usama, but the American media uses Osama as the transliteration of his name so frequently, and has for so long, that that's probably a hard switch, too.

I'm still waiting for someone to make the "Obama bin Biden" slip.

I don't attach any deep significance to Jerry River's or Oliver North's slip of the tongue. I worked with a gentleman named Osama for many years and have had to catch myself on several occasions. I do not associate him with either Osama Bin Ladin or President Obama. It's just neuro-linguistic programming.

I was watching the news on Fox with Geraldo reporting it. I fully expected him to break out party hats and those things that you blow on that uncurl...I don't know what they're called...

But he did let slip a few things that made me laugh out loud. Geraldo was great comic relief that night.

My GF let loose a good one, too. I mentioned that Charlie Sheen must have taken Osama out because obviously we're bi-winning. She then said "Osama bin Losing"
