School report

As the name indicates, this is the place for gun-related political discussions. It is not open to other political topics.

School report

#1

Post by Jasonw560 »

There was a news report that a school district just 5 minutes from me was going to cut the budget, starting with the campus police/security. http://www.valleycentral.com/news/story.aspx?id=602787

He said personnel will slide into the role of security guards. Also that they will be working closely with their city police.

I think maybe some of the personnel will get their CHLs.

I was just wondering if I should shoot an email off to this superintendent and suggest that.

It's my understanding that would be illegal unless the "personnel" were licensed security guards. If you are paid or otherwise compensated to provide security in Texas and carry a gun while doing so, you must be licensed as a security guard, not merely a CHL.

That should make campuses safer.
They may not feel safer, then again, with fewer armed people (police) some may feel safer (criminals)
Just tell them to contact Harrold ISD to see how to go about it.... or provide them contact info.

I'm thinking ALL Universities should just close Police Depts to save money too.

John Woods says Campuses are so extremely safe, why would anyone NEED a policeman on campus. Besides, they are too easily confused from what I hear, so we'd all be safer. The money saved could be used to pay tuition for the "citizenship-challenged" and "undocumented-people" education so they can get better jobs here instead of those which "no one wants to do".

Not only that...but if they did have a security licence they would have to have the gun in plain sight (in a holster) at all times. Plus be wearing something (a badge) that says they are security...and that would have to be approved by the state.........i can keep going too
