When did Lon Burnam move to Louisiana?
This will only hurt a little. What comes next, more so.

Academy salesman: "Weird, all 7 of your handguns have the serial number BR549, just like on Hee-Haw"
Maybe they are looking for a way to give Texas back some money their Casinos took ..
I better put the plate with My dishwasher's serial number back on it so I can buy detergent.

Bringing in your gun is problematic in many ways so instead we should register all guns, be issued a government firearms owner ID and then you only have to bring your ID to purchase ammo!! Problem solved!!

If the government just issued us free arms in the first place.... sure write down the number, I'll trade with someone ...GrillKing wrote:Bringing in your gun is problematic in many ways so instead we should register all guns, be issued a government firearms owner ID and then you only have to bring your ID to purchase ammo!! Same in Oregon. I didn't really like the idea of some crackhead bum pumping my gas while all the other degenerates that can't get a job mill around looking through your car. I wasn't aware of the law as I drove through Oregon, and was a little put off when my personal crackhead assistant tried to take my debit card from me and pump the gas. Needless to say, I was a little... um, dismayed hahahabigred90gt wrote:New Jersey did it. You cannot pump your own gas in that state.puma guy wrote:(Hey maybe that's a good way to increase employment; no more self-serve pumping of gas )
as far as this La law. good lord, people aren't even trying to HIDE the fact that they want a gun registration anymore! I mean, at least be a little creative about how you go about it. This isn't even close! I'm kinda surprised that a southern state would pull some wacky-ness like that, but then again, after that racist mayor tried to use the Nat'l Guard to steal all of the Naw'lins' residents' guns, well, few things surprise me anymore...
FWIW, IIRC, AFAIK, FTMP, IANAL. YMMV.

I think its worthy to note, Louisiana for the most part is gun friendly. This is just a bill, and unlikely has any support nor will it see the light of day. Even we in Texas, and Arizona have people who introduce antigun legislation.. The proper response is not give these bills or their sponsors any respect, and to pass on the info that the specific lawmawmaker to everyone we know is a loser idiot*.DoubleJ wrote: as far as this La law. good lord, people aren't even trying to HIDE the fact that they want a gun registration anymore! ...this from the state which requires CHL owners to ask permission before entering anyone's home carrying...it could pass...would bet it was introduced by a Rep from south of Alexandria, though..
Re: Louisiana bill requiring gun serial number to purchase a
Is anybody really surprised that a liberal Dem would propose a bill such as this? If they cannot have control over the firearms they will push to control the ammo or make it a burden to purchase it. Stay tuned I expect something from the White House soon... after all we seem to need some "common sense" according to Obie...

Oh, this is easy. Go to Austin during one of the stupid gun buyback programs that are all the rage for liberals. Buy one broke down gun in each caliber you own (make sure it has a serial number) from people turning in their guns. Make sure not to record the purchase. Then purchase all the ammo you need with those broke down guns.
Politicians are such idiots.

Two words: "Rock Chucker"
First - because the person who is proposing this type of legislation has about the same IQ as a rock chuck
Second - A Rock Chucker can with appropriate dies, powder, bullets, and primers can pretty much eliminate the need to go anywhere near a Wal-Mart to purchase ammo.
What a STUPID idea!

I can just see it. People pushing around carts full of long guns, handguns, ammo, groceries, assorted other odds and ends, and a toddler in the fold down seat.
