Bush/Cheney was most definitely an extremist team. They almost single-handedly drove us back into the Cold War.
Now we have Obama going the exact opposite way.
I for one would truly love to see a middle-of-the-road candidate. Palin is not it.

I openly admit I lean toward the Republican general ideas but the actions are not even close. A lot of the left-leaning talk is a little too left for me but in practice I think its closer to what I feel OK with. Actions are far more important to me than talk.

Its like the saying, some Christians give Christ a bad name. Some Right/ Left give the Republicans/ Democrats a bad name.

Obama is making the US look weaker every day. That will create a new cold war and encourage attacks on us more than anything Bush ever did. We didn't win the first cold war by apologizing. My opinion at least. :)

I think Palin is doing all this for herself. As stated above, her family is not wealthy and does not have the resources to deal with all the legal issues people threw at her. If she can make money with a book and doing speaking engagements, more power to her.

However, when you look at raising money and stuff, she is being asked to come speak a lot of events for local Republicans and she is being successful at helping raise money for them. That is not what someone does if they are truly a castoff who was dragging down a campaign.

The Democrats and their media allies would love for everyone to think less of her. They certainly have put a great deal of effort into trying to run her down. If she truly was incompetent and worthless, they would simply ignore her. If it wasn't for the media hatchet job attempts, I probably would be more critical of her.

She sounds like a woman who's trying to become a conservative "personality" or "celebrity" like Rush Limbagh or Glen Beck. I'll bet she has a talk show (probably radio, but I'd prefer TV ) within a year.

Maybe she'll become the GOP's "Geraldine Ferraro."

I heard today on the radio (haven't had time to verify it) that the Associated Press assigned 11 reporters to fact-check Palin's book page by page. Number of AP fact-checkers assigned to books by Kennedy, Obama, or the Clintons? Zero.

Considering how unfair and all this is I hope Palin kept this in mind and used facts over fiction.

I'm a Palin fan. I don't think she has said anything yet I disagree with, and usually it's a "Heck Yeah" (or similar).

She needs a little tempering, and needs to expand her horizons and world knowledge.
She isn't going away, and I'm going to vote for here whenever he name is on a ballot.

I just dont see what she is doing/saying thats any different from the rest on the Republican party.

Here is my "Perfect Candidate"

Some background in government (Governor, Senator, Big city mayor, or maybe a self made business man)
I want them to be Careful with money, Reduce spending, Reduce National debt. Better with Other Countries. I want them to be big on personal freedom (Gun Rights, Gay Marriage, Abortion, Anti-Censorship) I also dont want anyone who believes that Global Warming is a fraud or that reducing pollution is going to "Cost everyone their jobs", Also I could do without a "Creationist" in office, its just hard to take them seriously. I dont care about his religion I just dont want it affecting Domestic and International policy at all.
republicans run that kind of person, I dont see how they could lose.
