Re: SB 1188
Before SB 1188 passed, Texas law only allowed Texas residents to purchase long guns in Louisiana, Arkansas, New Mexico and Oklahoma.shootinbum wrote:Can anyone explain this? Second up from the bottom. Thanks.

Re: SB 1188
That has to do with FTF Purchases..........
Mail order purchases could (and still can be) made from any State in the Union thru FFL to FFL.

That's not a mail order purchase. That's a FTF purchase from your local FFL.AEA wrote:That has to do with FTF Purchases..........

Re: SB 1188
Not necessarily. Some places allow us to pay for the gun and then have it transferred thru the FFL dealer when the dealer sends them a copy of his license. So, all the FFL is doing is transferring it at his/her fee. I don't know if they consider him an "agent" or some term of the company selling the firearm or what. The FFL can order the gun but they usually only look at the companies that already have their FFL on file unless you request they use a certain company and they are willing to fax a copy of their license and order the firearm with whatever mark-up they want. If we pay for it we know the exact price with shipping and tax plus the FFL dealers charge. Most FFL dealers are good about informing on exactly what the price will be but some want to use our enthusiasm to milk us out of "other fees" they may think up.pouuiala wrote:That's not a mail order purchase.
