As the name indicates, this is the place for gun-related political discussions. It is not open to other political topics.

Calls being made right now. :tiphat:

Edit: I was informed by the nice young lady on the other end she "doesn't know where the speaker stands on this issue". And recommended I call the Governors office if I want it included in the special session.

I spoke to a guy at Straus's office and he told me the exact same thing. But I did get the Governor's tele.# from him. Very polite guy, I might add.

I got the same answer, but I countered with "His personal stance is not what matters, only that the bill(s) (I was calling on more than one) get a fair consideration by the legislature as a whole."

Of course I also called the Governor's office, and a friend up in Dalhart.

Same here. The lady I spoke to said she didn't know where he stood on this, but that she and he were aware that there was lots of calls in support of it.

And now off to call the Gov.

Governor called. In case anyone needs the number:

Citizen's Opinion Hotline: 1-800-252-9600

press option 2 to be connected to a real person. It took a few minutes waiting on hold, but I spoke to a nice lady. She said the Gov. planned on calling a special session, not sure when he would. And that the agenda for the session would be determined after he called it. I think that means it would be announced after.

Keep calling. :clapping:

I was notified of this and had a copy forwarded to me yesterday by Mitzi Long, District 98 Director for State Representative Vicki Truitt, and I promptly sent a message to Joe Straus.

Called, the lady that answered the phone attempted to pass the buck to the governor.
It can happen here.
