Can resident of Texas affect legal matters Florida?

I was under the impression that legel matters were affected by the populace of that specific area. Only call and write representatives/govenors of your state, county, district, etc...

Can I actually do good; living in Texas, to call and write the govenor's office regarding politics of Florida?
I am referring to the, "...ask him to VETO THE SECOND AMENDMENT TAX created by the confiscation of $6 million from the Division of Licensing Trust Fund." (via NRA)

I am active in my own locale, can I reach out to others?

I currently live in Florida as a Texas resident. I try to avoid getting entangled in any local politics since i have been here 4 years i am not always fully aware of the background of the laws they try to pass in this state and the general population's viewpoint.

However if you have the impression like many others that if CHL is banned in Florida then it could affect a decision to ban CHL in Texas then go for it. Sometimes a different perspective is helpful. The worst that could happen is you get a bad response back and the law you don't want gets passed.

It doesn't hurt to write, but realistically politicians in Florida aren't going to pay much attention to a Texan except under one condition. If you give campaign contributions to a politician, particularly if you can bundle campaign contributions from several people, the politician will pay some attention to you, maybe more than to a constituent that doesn't contribute. So give him a campaign contribution and then write.

If you are asking whether you can legally, morally, or ethically try to influence government officials in other states, sure, all three. People do it all the time.

The issue in question here is using funds that are supposed to be used for conservation and recreation (e.g., state parks) for other purposes. Although you don't live in Florida, this issue affects you, because you have the potential to take vacations there and use their facilities.

(BTW, Texas has exactly the same problem.)

I doubt that letters from out of state would make a difference in an issue like this, except to the extent that the governor's aides are weighing the piles of mail to gauge public opinion.

Mr. Crist may have presidential aspirations, so he needs to be aware of how the actions that he takes now will affect votes in other states in the future.

Recently there was a controversial ballot initiative in California that was very much influenced by out-of-state interests. I don't want to go into detail here, because it involves sex and religion.

You just have to be careful about donating money. Some forms of donation are illegal. IMHO, it's better to donate to a reputable lobbying group like the NRA-ILA, which has lawyers, than to donate directly to candidates.

TPW takes in a boat load of money (pun intended) annually that goes into the General Fund. The legislature then gives a pittance back to TPW to operate on. That ain't right, but that's the way it is.

I suspect the same is true for most states.

I think it depends what the governor's aspirations are for his next job.

Mr. Crist pretty obviously wants to be a U.S. senator; and that is sometimes a stepping-stone to the presidency.
