Brandon Herrera Loses to Tony Gonzales

#1

Post by The Annoyed Man »

In the primary runoff election yesterday between Brandon Herrera ("The AK Guy") and Tony Gonzales (the RINO) for the Texas 23 Republican nomination, Herrera went down to defeat by a close margin of 50.7% to 49.3%.

Gonzales VASTLY outspent Herrera, $24 million to Herrera's $300k. The Gonzales campaign was supported by the uniparty, including funding from the GOP (AKA “spineless authoritarians”), as well as receiving both funds and endorsements from prominent democrats, PACs and squishy republicans, while Herrera ran a grassroots campaign, funded by small individual donations and largely making up for the financial disparity by his mastery of social media.

Gonzales consistently ran a dirty campaign, making wild accusations against Herrera on both the legacy Democrat Steno Pool (AKA “the media”) and on X (Twitter). Virtually every single one of Gonzales's posts on X got community-noted pointing out the lies, and Herrera's supporters (to be honest, myself included) hammered "Little Tony" in response. It was stupid of Gonzales to disseminate these lies when they were so easily disprovable. People will remember them as a reflection on his lack of personal integrity, and brand him as a man of low character.

I personally had a heated exchange with a paid democrat operative who looked me up online and threatened to doxx me, by calling me by my first and last name—which is not public on X. He gleefully repeated all of the lies that Gonzales told about Herrera, and refused to respond to replies that exposed the lies. He’s a Richard Cranium.

THAT is the kind of support that Tony Gonzales had. But there is a moral victory here. With only $300,000 and MASSIVE popular support, political upstart Brandon Herrera came with 1.4% of beating a $24,000,000 campaign.

Gonzales's track record as a "conservative" is paper thin. He has voted for gun-control measures as well as democrat sponsored immigration bills that effectively do nothing to curb illegal immigration, while significantly increasing federal spending. District 23 will have to suffer through poor representation for another 2 years, as Little Tony can now pivot away from calling himself a conservative and return to supporting DNC (AKA “commies”) measures in the House of Representatives.

A consummate and brazen liar like Tony Gonzales will continue to alienate voters in his district as he has now revealed to them his corrupt nature. Human nature being what it is, it’s likely that some of his voters will begin paying attention to what he DOES rather than what he Says. It is my sincere prayer that Brandon Herrera will be encouraged enough by how close this loss was to spend the next 2 two years accumulating a larger campaign chest; keep using his social media platforms to point out Gonzales's hypocrisy to the district's voters; and then challenge Gonzales again in 2026.

Just 1.4%! Gonzales is ripe for the picking if a primary challenger can raise enough money to buy TV advertising.

300k vs 24Mil with a percentage THAT small is incredible.

Hopefully GOP in Texas will grow a spine.

I doubt it though

I don’t disagree, but I do think that Herrera would have served Texas 23 better than Gonzales has. As it turns out, only 407 votes separated the two. Maybe if 410 people had turned out for Herrera instead of being glued to their X-Boxes or TVs….

I wish he would have a recount. With BigPolitics on Gonzales side, maybe there was some "two for me one for thee" going on...
