I don't normally agree with these guys about anything. But if its true that these "police" forces are not only wearing no uniforms, badges, or insignia, but are also refusing to identify who they are with, then why would anyone assume that they have any more, or less, authority than any other citizen.

And following on that, if they were to attack someone with a deadly weapon (metal baton), it would be understandable for folks to use deadly force in response.

Sure, just fill out the paperwork, get a background check, take the safety classes and wait the mandatory 7 or 10 days (depending on state) and go stand up to those with much better tools, equipment and training.

I agree. The media has assumed they were federal police because of where they were. but that really is an assumption and I am under no legal obligation to assume that. This is why we used to always have uniformed police with the plainclothes detectives when they went on raids or served warrants. Texas law says that the person knows they are police IF they are wearing the distinctive uniform, but only then is the assumption legally made.
