With numerous states passing or proposing frighteningly restrictive anti-gun laws, this is also emerging. Is this the beginning of something?
8-state anti-sanctuary compact - is this the beginning of something?

Would not work. Cross border firearms regulation is under federal law.

Which is an infringement...
In certain extreme situations, the law is inadequate. In order to shame its inadequacy, it is necessary to act outside the law to pursue a natural justice.

That is why the law specifically references that the firearms in question must not pass state lines, and must be inscribed with "Fabricated in _____".
They are trying to get a case before SCOTUS to overturn the HORRIBLE Wickard v. Filburn case from the 30's. Its about time.
It'll never fly, though. Even SCOTUS is too wrapped in federal power to strip away their ability to regulate everything. The Wickard v Filburn case is what allows them to control schools, traffic, highways, federal funding handouts, gun laws, gun free school zone act, controlled substances, and just about every other thing that the feds do beyond their constitutional limits. Reversing that decision would shrink the federal government (and power) a good 50% or more overnight. They'll never do it, since they've all been at the federal tit too long themselves.
Ever since then (and the opening of the Fed Bank), our country has been doomed, it is just a matter of how long it takes for tyranny to grow.

The state can regulated or not enforce or aid Federal LEOs but cannot stop them from working.Rob72 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 14, 2020 10:12 amWell, de facto, it does work. We've seen it with the anti-ICE sanctuary cities, NY/NJ heinous firearms legislation, etc.. We also know that the passive-resistance model that the Progressives are so fond of cannot be used against them without violent suppression in return.
I can see the sanctuary cities or adding an amendment in the State constitution to protect the 2ndA rights a good strategy.
I hate to see Texas flipping in the Blue hands, but it might happen in the next 8 yrs or so.
