Female Gun Owners: We Prefer the AR-15

"ARs are an excellent choice for women for home defense," Sandoval told the Free Beacon. "The platform is relatively lightweight and easy to hold and customize so that the firearm fits her body correctly. Having a rifle that is the right size for the shooter makes it more comfortable to shoot and therefore more accurate and safer."

Along the same line, I stumbled upon this yesterday:

I posted that on Twitter yesterday. I now have a couple of women and their husbands in my life group (pretty much all of whom are my age or older) wanting to try shooting one of my AR15s, and wanting to know what it would cost to build or buy one.

We will never be real successful screaming over the interwebs about the second amendment, militias and protecting what is ours. Introduce a young lady to shooting, especially scary ARs. Once you introduce firearms to people and ladies in particular, they will understand they aren't scary and frightening to handle. Let's face it, It is fun to go shooting! AR's are ideal for the ladies, light weight adjustable pull with low recoil.

The only way we are going to beat the angry moms is to convince people that the black scary rifles aren't so scary and that gun owners aren't all ignorant bigotted rednecks and that some are suburban soccer moms and dotting grandmas, maybe even a few folks who tilt to the left.

Absolutely need to introduce new shooters whenever possible. Would be much easier if there were actually more places to shoot. I see THAT as one of the biggest impediments to getting more new shooters involved.
