TSRA’s Alice Tripp announces retirement

As the name indicates, this is the place for gun-related political discussions. It is not open to other political topics.

TSRA’s Alice Tripp announces retirement

#1

Post by Grayling813 »

Received email few minutes ago from TSRA about today’s meeting with the governor. In it Alice Tripp announced retirement.
In closing, know that Mike Cox is now the Legislative Director of TSRA. My retirement is scheduled for August 31st.

It's been 11 sessions and 21 years. I am first of all a gun owner, collector, and a hunter. I have a gun for every task including personal protection.

It's been my pleasure to serve.
Thank you for all you have done for Texans’ 2nd Amendment rights!

I have had the pleasure of talking with Alice Tripp twice on the phone, once was with Charles Cotton and another party. I will miss knowing that Alice Tripp is fighting for us, but at the same time I hope Mike Cox lives up to the very high standard she set. For the record I suspect that Alice is the type of person that would not retire until she knew that her replacement could meet her standards!

I don't know Alice at all, except for the newsletters I receive via email, and the occasional snail-mail or news story. But I hold the same opinion of her as GA Heath. For whatever reason, Alice Tripp has always struck me as someone not to be trifled with. An icebreaker in the sea of frozen politics, with the heart of a grandmother.
