Bad taste, certainly. A bad joke, most likely. A crime, not suppose to be. Consequences, definitely.

Pretty stupid on their part posing in front of a bullet ridden sign with firearms. The implication is that they vandalized the sign themselves. Does it rise to criminal? Maybe vandalism? It does not say anywhere that they shot up the sign so I am going with they simply posed for a photo as some kind of stupid prank.
On a side note. I don't get why folks are vandalizing the sign to begin with. Doing this does come across as racist in my opinion.

Yes. Very racist. Very inappropriate. Nothing good can come out of it.03Lightningrocks wrote: ↑Fri Jul 26, 2019 11:14 am On a side note. I don't get why folks are vandalizing the sign to begin with. Doing this does come across as racist in my opinion.

Quite frankly, it is a disgusting display considering the sign is to memorialize a young child who was brutally killed. It makes me wonder what the heck is wrong with people who do these things.Paladin wrote: ↑Fri Jul 26, 2019 11:24 amYes. Very racist. Very inappropriate. Did anyone else notice how the sign had bullet holes going in both directions, watch your crossfire

If the students shot the sign, it's criminal and stupid.
If the students posed in front of the already shot sign with their firearms, it's just stupid.
Regardless, stupid people keep racial strife going by picking at the wounds.

Celebrating the death of any innocent is awful, but celebrating the death of a 14 year old kid whose crime was being black is even worse.
Ole Miss doesn't need students like that. I wish that I were surprised that Kappa Alpha is involved.

The article's title is misleading regarding a civil rights investigation. Buried near the bottom, the article states:
FBI told police it would not further investigate the incident because the photo did not pose a specific threat.

Each of these adults has done far more to escalate racial strife in America than any college kids taking a selfie. When these so called "public servants" are stripped of their office, and personal fortunes built stirring the pot, then I may be able to gather some concern about college kids doing insensitive crap. Until then, public outrage over something like this is straining at gnats.
I believe the basic political division in this country is not between liberals and conservatives but between those who believe that they should have a say in the personal lives of strangers and those who do not.
